Tom,
You write both interesting lyrics AND interesting melodies.
Most of the melodies that I've heard in all these AI songs being posted are obviously written by the machine.
(While the machine seldom writes high quality lyrics, it always writes better melodies than where most amateur songwriters land)
So...did SUNO follow your melody note-for-note?
I've yet to see anyone actually answer that question...

Hi, Tom. Lovely song. The chords are cool, and Suno's vocal are really nice here. Suno also does some killer instrumentals. Nice inner rhymes, too. I was tempted to have Suno cover the SynthV vocal on my last song, but I don't have the paid version, which would mean splitting song up into multiple parts and hoping I'd get a similar voice. Plus, it made some deviations to the melody, probably to convince me to get the paid version.

Thank you all for your comments and feedback… Regarding Suno, I completely composed the song and all I wanted from Suno was is an effective vocal.
However, I liked the instrumentation, so I went with it. SUNO played the melody and chord structure just as I had given it in my simple original, which was vocal, guitar, and bass. I am 100% against using an AI tool to create or change the melody, the chord structure, the tempo or rhythm or the lyrics. If I could figure out how to get Suno to simply replace my vocal with another, that would make me quite happy, but I have yet to figure out how to do that!

I just want to add one more thing …. in my mind, “cover” should mean: play the song exactly as written, being respectful to all the elements: melody, chords, lyric, rhythm, tempo…I don’t mind adding a little (I mean “a little”) personality to the vocal, but don’t “invent” things. Also add your own ideas about instrumentation. that’s probably a lot more restrictive than the concept present in Suno and other AI tools that tend to want re-make a song in some new way, but that’s the respect I would like as the composer, handing my creation off to someone who’s going to interpret it. My 2 cents.
