I Wouldn't But I Want To on Soundcloud I Wouldn't But I Want To on YouTube A song about saying one thing and meaning another. You (hopefully) can tell this is NOT autobiographical because it's about a sleezball. Not that there's anything wrong with that, as Sienfeld would say. Style is _MINGLE.STY (Mingle Guitar Shuffle) RealTracks in style: 421:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm Blues Sw 120 RealTracks in style: 3702:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm AmericanaShuffleBrent Sw 120 EZDDrummer. Dave Bell (Blue Attitude) played guitar. I played bass and sang. Like the singers (me) who sing my songs, for each drummer I also imagine a character (if you know what I mean). This drummer just got new toms and really wanted to show them off. As for bass, it's always me –who is, I hear, quite the character too. I Wouldn't But I Want To[If all of our thoughts could be read, we'd hear both what's said and what's meant. Read the quotations as what was spoken.]Satisfied that the time is right, and the tumblers fall in place. There is nothing holding me to this tired life, and I could use more space. The wavy mountain lines that are calling me, they seem to know my soul. So "I must turn you down cuz I'm headin' out of town. So now I guess I'll go." I wouldn't but "I want to." You know I need to think this through. "It's like I said I want to," but I wouldn't want to with you. "You can see that I'm running late, and my pickup truck is packed. So forgive me if I bounce. We can call it fate. Our deck right now is stacked. There's a storm on its way and my wipers barely work so I need to beat the rain. It could've been great fun, but I really gottra run. We'll try again someday." Satisfied that the time is right, and the tumblers fall in place. There's a life I need to live where I'm free to just be me, and I could use more space. The trees that line the path to the big sky up ahead are pulling me along. Knowing where I'd be if I let her get to me, I knew I wasn't wrong. I wouldn't but "I want to." I'm so glad I thought that through. It's like I told her, "I want to," but thought, I wouldn't with you. INTRO-- Am Am Dm E7 V-- (Am Am Dm Dm)2 G G Am Am Dm G E E7... CH-- Am Dm Am E7 Am Dm E7 Am

Hi Marty,
First I had to look up what a "sleezball" is. Haha.... But what a great song, couldn't sit still. Dave did a very good job and I like your voice.
If a "sleezball" inspired you to write such a good song, you might as well try to write songs about other creeps.

Marty, another great song. As usual great vocal, lyrics, and bass lines. Dave always does as amazing job on that axe of his regardless of the genre. The mix is spot on. Another winner from the dynamic duo.

Wicked cool song! Smokin' backing track with (always) great bass and lead guitar. Those BiaB rhythm guitars do their job nicely. Sounds LOUD but very CLEAR, so stellar mix, too. You guys are amazing!

Liked the groove on this and of course, Dave's playing. Not sure I fully got the storyline. I'm sure it's my shortcoming. Lots of things in this world I don't get. Oh, well. Good job musically.

Very creative idea, super lyric supported by a smooth-moving musical backing. Loved the line "Knowing where I'd be if I let her get to me". Really enjoyed it, Marty. Great work!

I had to google the word "sleezball" Great song by you guys. To me, the lyrics sound like they're just about a typical male. Aren't they all like that?

If you’re hunting for a masterclass in slick, self-serving detachment, "I Wouldn’t But I Want To" is your jam.
This track is a cheeky dive into the mind of a charmingly shady character, riding a groove so infectious you might just overlook his sketchy motives.
Marty’s vocals are like a smooth operator’s guide to sweet-talking out of any mess, dropping those double-edged lines with a sly grin and a delivery so smooth, you’ll find yourself vibing with the slickest player in town.😉
This is the anthem for the Excuse Architect—the dude who blames wavy mountain lines and a looming storm (on a day without a cloud in the sky) for his vanishing act. But while this guy’s running late and ducking out, the band’s right there, nailing the groove like pros.🎵
Marty’s voice oozes that slick, oily charm, spinning convenient lies with a musical sincerity that’s hard to resist. And even though he’s claiming he’s skipping town, his bass work is right there, holding it down with a funky, tight shuffle that makes you forget the main character’s a total sleazeball.🤪
And let’s give it up for Dave Bell (Blue Attitude) on lead guitar. His solo is so clean, soulful, and technically on point, it almost makes you believe that driving a pickup with busted wipers is a legit emergency. He takes this bluesy jam way beyond its sketchy storyline. 🎸💎
"I Wouldn’t But I Want To" is a wild contradiction: killer music backing up some brutally honest lies. It’s the perfect soundtrack for ditching your responsibilities while your inner Seinfeld shrugs, “Not that there’s anything wrong with that.” Highly recommended—just don’t try these excuses on a date. They won’t fly. ✈👇
This track proves that bad intentions can make for some seriously good music. 🎼 👌
Bravo Marty & Co. 👋 👋 👋

Love the song. Your voice is in excellent form, as usual. The lyrics ... ha. I know this is about a guy, but let me tell you, I've dated too many ladies like this, unfortunately, too . Dave Bell's guitar playing is superb ... again, as usual. You two make an excellent musical duo. Great job, Marty and Dave ... one of those songs which I will listen to more than just the one time, haha Well done, gentlemen!

Entertaining, Marty. It's raining here today so I laughed knowingly at the wiper line excuse. Very clever lyric with the inner thought idea.

Anne-Marie Hey, good "seeing" you, Rob and Anne-Marie. And thanks for the comment. Yeah, I'm not really wanting to write an anthem for that class(less). The title came as I was strumming chords, and as the lyrics started to follow, I knew instantly that I wasn't a fan of this guy. Still, the song writes what the song writes. Marty,
A great hard-rocking song! Awesome vocal, bass and production. Of course, Dave sounds excellent as well!

Bob Thanks, Bob. I had another chance to listen to your music exclusively for a couple hours the other day. Wow. Good day! Need to rinse and repeat that. Marty, another great song. As usual great vocal, lyrics, and bass lines. Dave always does as amazing job on that axe of his regardless of the genre. The mix is spot on. Another winner from the dynamic duo. Thanks, Mario. Right? I have a fine collection of off-the-wall genres that Dave played --enough to advertise him as a highly sought-after session man. Hi, Marty. What they said! A bouncy song about a guy that everyone is better off with being gone. But I wouldn't want to with youThat had me laughing. Dave's guitar playing impressive! Thanks, David. Not to worry. That guy should've fixed his wipers before leaving. He crashed his truck into the big oak tree in front of her house on his way out of town. He didn't make it to write his sequel, "I Should've, But I Didn't."

Kudos to the Band!

Thanks, Ron. Much appreciated. Loud? That puzzles me. I try to get all of the songs at a -14LUTS, but notice that that doesn't really equalize the volume. But then I don't know much about that science. Liked the groove on this and of course, Dave's playing. Not sure I fully got the storyline. I'm sure it's my shortcoming. Lots of things in this world I don't get. Oh, well. Good job musically. Thanks, Bob. Yeah, the story is tough to follow cuz the guy speaks with forked tongue. Very creative idea, super lyric supported by a smooth-moving musical backing. Loved the line "Knowing where I'd be if I let her get to me". Really enjoyed it, Marty. Great work! Thanks, Tom. She's better off where she is by not getting to him. I had to google the word "sleezball" Great song by you guys. To me, the lyrics sound like they're just about a typical male. Aren't they all like that? Of course you had to look it up, Brain, because it is so far removed from who you are. And to answer your tongue-in-cheeky question: no.
