This is just a fun tune. I discovered the bouncy kind of style and liked it so much that I've written a few songs with it. I'm singing, whistling and playing some background guitar. But the song asks the philosophical question...Are little lies so bad, if they make her feel good? Hmmmm? ]****** Song Summary ************* Title: I DON'T LIKE HER MEATLOAF File:I DON'T LIKE HER MEATLOAF3.MGU Key=D , Tempo 154, Length (m:s)=3:36 8 bar intro, 129 bar chorus, from bar 9 to bar 137. Hi Sol! I very captivating song title made me want to check this out, and glad I did! Musically, your choice is an excellent style to support the lyrics theme. The style had a ‘tip-toe’ feel to it, as though you were dancing around the truth. Your lyrics … while listening, I realised my wife could sing this but change ‘meatloaf’ for ‘songs’… I DON'T LIKE HIS SONGS BUT I LOVE HIM SO I TELL HIM THAT THEY’RE GOOD, WHAT CAN I DO PRAISE COVERS UP THE SOUND, I REALLY POUR IT ON HE THINKS I LIKE ‘EM, I CAN'T TELL HIM THE TRUTH
There is a difference between recognising effort and recognising outcome. Maybe you’re appreciating the effort? The line containing ‘Groundhog Day again’ could equally be ‘ground beef day again’.
A very enjoyable listen.
Andrew

Andrew What an enjoyable critique! It's nice to know that somebody is actually listening to my songs. And comparing it to your wife singing about songs is very funny. You're a very funny guy. 😃

Hi, Sol. Clever write, with matching music and an attitude in the vocals that's a great fit. Love it.

Sol, this is hilarious! A catchy tune with a great vocal and lyrics. Super mix also. My wife makes great meatloaf but I still put ketchup on it, thus I really connected with this song. Loved it
I arrived early to a restaurant. The manager asks, "do you mind waiting a bit?" I said no. "Good", he said. "Take these drinks to table 3"

HAHA! The title drew me in with a personal note. I gave up eating cows and pigs in 1983, but still say my favorite meal is my wife's meatloaf.
Great use of the style, Sol. Yeah, you got style, man. A fun bouncey song so realatable in many ways. Excellent vocal and mix too.

Sol...you made your own meatloaf with this project! But it turned out great, no ketchup needed! Loved the idea! You know, even though songs like this are "fun" or "light" or "gimicky", they still require proper song construction, arranging, lyric-writing, musical architecting--all the elements that would apply to something "serious" or "heavy"--so kudos to you for nailing this one! I esp liked the whistling--assume that's you live--and those little stops at the end of the verses were really nice. Great work!
