Sentimental SoulsI just made up the title: there is no story behind this one. I made this to show one of the sounds of the $39 USD Swam Vari-Flute. If you are not aware of Swam instruments you might want to check them out. BiaB style - USHR2 2 - 16ths Soul-Ballad Sty I deleted the bass track Piano - Kontakt - harp Strings and Utility - Kontakt - Amadeous - Full String Ensemble + Kurt Hunter's Virtual Strings + Solid State strings Drums - the Wav version of the styles drums - I could not find an 808 drum kit like the MIDI one in the style. I am playing my fretless bass and via my breath and keyboard controllers the Sawm Vari-Flute. As always all comments are welcomed. Note that I do not work for or represent Swam instruments. I just like them a lot.

I’m not flute expert but it sounds realistic! I loved the pairing with the harp. It sounded like a couple of sentimental souls to me!

Well, at the risk of being repetitively redundant  we gotta say that flute is wonderful. The tone and notes on the fretless are very supportive. Our fav bass BTW. Lovely and well done ... in all aspects. J&B

Really nicely done, Mario. Very meditative with a gorgeous, tranquil beauty. Super virtual flute work, as always. Drums aren't fancy but they serve their purpose. Nicely articulated work on the fretless, too. You have more restraint than I do with the fretless: I just want to slide every note into a fat MWAH, which never gets old to me even if it doesn't always serve the song.

You've got the Solid State Strings? Cool! I'd intended to get them for a long time, but finally scratched that itch with something else.
Mellow sound, lots of cool articulations from the flute, especially those trills.

Well, you sure are quite the salesman, Mario. Yes, I will check out the Swam. That flute sounds amazing. Quite a range too.  What wonderful Mario Music. The quickly-thought title fits perfectly. This whole feel has that closed-eyes-pursed-brow kinda feel. Without lyrics, it falls on the listener to supply their own memories. This makes it extremely relatable.

This is a really relaxing ambient song.
It could also be used as the official introductory song for Swam Instruments.
I've never used a breath controller, but listening to your song I understand that it's possible to create expressions that sound like a real flute.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Inviting title and the song rewards the invited listener with a beautiful melody and smooth chord progression. I really enjoyed your Swam/flute playing, those trills sound great, I can imagine a green dressed goblin playing a flute and leading me to a magical land.

You don't need a breath controller to use Swam instruments. Any CC assignable foot pedal, slider, or knob will work. Just assign it to CC11 via the Swam instrument MIDI window.

Cool track, Mario…I’ll have to look into Swam! Thanx Tom. I'd start with the Vari-flute. It is only $39 but has all of the options that the more expensive instruments have. If you like the workflow you can get the other instruments. If not you are out only $39.
