A new one with Marty. Written (as John and Paul used to say) "eyeball to eyeball" I'm playing pedal steel into my Tonex One amp modeler and out to the board. I did my vocals at my studio and Marty recorded bass and his vocals at his. We mixed together at his studio. I tried AI for the video. I just put in the song and the lyrics then in 2 minutes out came a 6 minute video that I had to edit down for this 3 minute song. Very weird video. I kind of liked the weirdness though. I'm not sure about AI yet but it sure saved time. Anyway, here's the info:

Soundcloud version of We'll See You Son

Style is _UKBIGRK.STY (Rock w/ Crisp & Fuzz Guitars)
RealTracks in style: ~405:Guitar, Acoustic, Strumming Ev 120

Ill will at the mill, Like petting a porcupine
Ed, Ronnie and Bill, Aint getting no overtime
I said I'll see you son, I'll see you son

Burn out in the street, But we called him home run
Stumbled up to his feet, Always ready to have some fun
I said I'll see you son, I'll see you son

I'm so God damn tired of all this cold and snow and rain
I dont care if I ever see another falling leaf again
Gonna get me some warm time

I been all the way down, As far as I'm gonna go
Take me out of this town, where it's warm and I can take it slow
I said I'll see you sun, I'll see you sun
Wer'e gonna see the sun,I'll see you sun

Nice one, Buddy and Marty. Has a cool early-REM vibe that I like a lot. Slinky main riff that references "Gloria" (and others) but still sounds fresh. Love the bass and where it's at in the mix. The vocals are great throughout, especially like the vocal layering in the outro. Excellent work, guys.

Very nice Bill and Marty!

Good write and vocals (could be a tad louder for my tastes) and nice to hear your steel in there.

Good stuff you two, enjoyed.

Buddy and Marty, this took me back to the 1960's and that is a good thing. Super vocal although I would like it a bit more forward/louder in the mix, i.e. just a personal choice. Great backing band and as always great bass by Marty.
I really liked this one.

OK, a random thought;
Why does toilet paper need a commercial? Who's not buying it?

Hi Bill and Marty!
I agree with others - I would like to have enjoyed it more if I could hear the vocals clearer - I'm not sure if it's volume or if more 'dry' vocal is needed to separate it from the fx, or EQ to remove muddiness? I can't tell. Some really good elements are there, and I can see what Ron means by the riff from 'Gloria' by Them - I'm not sure if it's an exact match but it is reminiscent at least, but you made it your own and it fitted right in. Very catchy chorus line 'I'll see ya son'.

Nice! Loved the harmonies. Could totally hear the REM reference as mentioned already.

I think it's a song with great potential - though I'd arrange it to make it longer - but I thought the whole mix was too blurry, particularly the vocals. I was surprised as you have way better facilities than I do.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Hi, Bill. Haven't seen ya on here. Yeah. Next time, I think you should send me a completely dry vox track with no FX at all. You can Melodyne it if you like, but otherwise dry. I really like this song and had a blast creating and producing it with you. Are you working on the next one?

Enjoy whatever happens!
