Another new song ” Let it shine”

Real drums soul60’s tambo ev

2110 Horn section backround rb ev 16
3776 guitar electric backround funkdance single riff ev 16
3330 guitar electric rhythm loungefunk chorus ev 16

Piano Jukka
Vocals , words , composition , production Jona.

Let it shine, all day through
Let it shine , shine on you
Let it shine , through the hurt and pain Let it shine , it’s not in vain
Fill this land with your mighty glory
Flood the nations with grace and
mercy, and let my light shine , i’m gonna let it shine .

I made an embarrassing mistake while singing. I am singing ” Let my light shines” . I had written "let my light shine" correctly. But for some reason, when recording, i sang wrong. And I only noticed it when the song was released…..

Timo, Jukka, and Jona, I really liked this one. Great Wah Wah guitar intro. The bass was outstanding. Great vocal and I loved the lyrics. (I feel your pain about singing the wrong lyrics - been there an done that). Good mix also.
Loved it

Hi Timo, Jukka, and Jona!
This is a great 'song of praise' - the feel of the music matches and supports the message in the lyrics. Oh I wish more church music was like this - a lot of what I hear is like Hillsong and it all sounds the same after a while - but this song is fresh and uplifting.
Well done!
Andrew

Right from the cool feel in the Intro I was boppin' with ya, Jona. HA! I didn't get the "Timo, Jukka, and Jona" reference which Mario and Andrew mention. Yeah, good bass and piano too. Well, that investigation put your song in the background while I searched so I pushed Play again. Hey, just want to say it is also a good background song for anything from meditation of house cleaning. smile I agree with Mario about the wah-wah, and with Andrew about wishing more church music like this. This shines brightly, JONA.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Hi Jona,

A lovely song, a nice funky melody and a funny story about you sang the lyrics other than had to.
Sometimes that happens to me too, though just some words. In my last song I had to sing what is going through my mind, but instead I used 'heart' and decide to leave it that way. No one noticed. I think here it will be the same. Your vocals shine and the song was joyful.

But speaking about that, during the time I listened to the song I was wondering if the song wasn't too joyful, compared with the lyrics.
Don't you think the song should have been a little more subdued?

Hans

Oh, it feels good if we're really that successful In ”song of praise”
I feel the same about Hillsong.
But many people like that style

Really enjoyed this, every aspect.
Liked the chord scheme for the bridge very much.
Well-selected horn RT and effective how you used it.
Great work!

Jona, love the funky feel and your vocals are GREAT! That's a lively band, with very fine "live" playing complemented perfectly by the BiaB parts. A great production. Nice job on the long fade ending, too. That's a great effect that we don't hear enough any more. Super song!

Hi Hans!
And thanks for your comments!
Well, it's always been a little”problem” for me, these minor songs and major lyrics..
Or major songs and minor lyrics.. sorry my English…
Here in Finland, there is a strong influence of Slavic song culture, which is melancholic.
So very often my songs are a mix of melancholy and major-key singing….

Very uplifting and well produced all around.
Excellent piano/bass performances along with your fine vocals.
Your BiaB session guys earned their pay. smile

Well mixed. The funk vibe was a very creative and effective choice to deliver the tune.

Enjoyed it!
