I've been away so long, working UnGodly hours, but that's fixing to change as I have decided to retire, I'm 73 and I've earned it.
This is a brand new song, that I wrote yesterday, and did the recording today.

I Need A Lot More Jesus
https://on.soundcloud.com/W0V8ojXSnq1x5xnxKs

I was living a life, down sin’s pathway,
I really didn’t care, what would come my way.
It was such a struggle, pulling to and fro
I need a lot more Jesus, and a little less rock and roll.
Chorus:
I need a lot more Jesus, and a little less rock and roll,
I need a holy infilling, to save my soul.
I have a true salvation, and this I know,
I need a lot more Jesus, and a little less rock and roll.

Friend if you’re struggling, in this world of sin,
You have so many troubles, you don’t know where to begin.
Just lean on the master, give your heart and soul,
You need a lot more Jesus, and a little less rock and roll.
Chorus two:
You need a lot more Jesus, and little less rock and roll,
You need a holy infilling, to save your soul.
You’ll have true salvation, and then you’ll know,
You need a lot more Jesus, and a little less rock and roll.
Chorus three:
We need a lot more Jesus, and a little less rock and roll,
We needs a holy infilling, to save our souls.
8We’ll have true salvation, and then we’ll know,
We need a lot more Jesus, and a little less rock and roll,
We need a lot more Jesus, and a little less rock and roll.

Hi, Ronnie. Welcome back!

Funny to put a song about needing a little less rock and roll to a rockin' and rollin' backing track. But very cool and a very cool song.

You do a great job on the vocals, and I really enjoyed your guitar break, too.

I've said this before, but something is going to kill us one day. It's just a fact. But at this point in our lives, it shouldn't be work. Congratulations on your decision to retire, and may the next phase bring you all the happiness you've earned.

Maybe some more time for music, too. smile

Hi Ronnie, congrats on your retirement! More time to dedicate to music. This one gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "holy roller"!

I have a soft spot for real Rock'n'Roll and Boogie-Woogie piano, and you offer both.
Great vocals and harmonies, too.

It's a great rock 'n' roll song! But following your heart via your music I suspect Jesus would be 100% pro it, plus with this song you've got the right mix of the two!

Some favourite Waoist Adages:
#1: Play on the Way.
#13: Ask not for whom the flower blooms, it blooms for you.
#58: Bring consciousness to it.
#63: On the road to effortlessness, effort must be made.
#92: Be Love Now, the rest will come on its own.

An interesting juxtaposition between the music and the lyrics.

Well done.

Yes. A good idea to retire. Oh yeah BTW..... That thing about "more free time when you retire"...... Good luck with that. Take it from someone who knows.

Welcome back, Ronnie. Missed you, man. My first thought reading the title was, "Who doesn't?" WHat a good write, and you even added the irony of singing, "We need a lot more Jesus, and a little less rock and roll" in a terrific rock 'n' roll song. Yep. I know a lot more rock 'n' rollers who have more Jesus in their lives than do holy rollers.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Ronnie, a rock and roll song about wanting less rock and roll, brilliant.
I think the entire world could use a lot more Jesus.
I love 50's rock and roll so you know that I will love this one.
Super guitar lead and vocals.
Loved it

What a rollicking good song that is full of spiritual energy. The song sounds like one Jerry Lee Lewis could have performed.
