Grooving On Up

Just for a change of pace here is one I hope you will like. So get out your leisure suit and your disco mirror ball and dance like it was 1970 again.

BiaB style - #DiscoMiamiX _ @2008_R.Norton
Tempo - 100 BPM

I deleted the string track
Bass - Ample Bass - YingYang
Piano - Kontakt - Band - Clavinet - Auto Wah - note that a section of this track is from a MIDI file I found on the Internet.
Guitar - Synthmaster 3 - PLK - Organ Pluck
Drums - Steven Slate's SSD-5 - Deluxe - Funk 2

I am playing my Jay Turser Jazz Box guitar and via my breath and keyboard controllers the Swam alto, tenor, and bari saxes and the Swam trumpet.

As usual all comments are welcomed.

Mario,

Love this! What a great sound and mix. Those sax tracks are amazing.

The 70s are back!

Very funky, VERY cool. Like your main guitar riff a lot, and the octave(?) accents add a nice dynamic punch. Did this style of music ever go out of style? I don't know how that could have ever happened. Infectious and just FUN. Nicely done, Mario!

Dang man, reckon now I gotta throw away my old Disc Sux t-shirt I've had 54 years.

Love that funky vibe and your performances are, per always, excellent.

I knew it would be a great mix when I saw the waveform. It says it all.

Bud's no dancer but it sure got Janice moving. smile

Nice,

J&B

Due to my lacking age, I certainly wouldn't dance to it, but it definitely grooves well, the organ solo is really cool, and the saxes you play are excellent.
Enjoyed my listen [Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]

Luckily this is far less disco than it is funk. Nice work on the Mario bits.

I agree with what J&B wrote on SC: it's "funky" disco rather than either disco or funk (as Dave wrote). It reminds me of the kind of music you'd hear in dance scenes in 1960s & 70s movies. I can picture Roger Moore in a "Persuaders" episode dancing to it - though he was a crap dancer! laugh

HAHA. I think I was homeless when leisure suits were a thing. Even refused hand-me-downs.

I'd never a refuse a music offering from the maestro, Mario. What you create is always a fun trip. Until now the only disco song I liked was written by Harry Niilson & Ringo called "How long can disco on?"

Yours can go on repeat. George Jefferson would've loved this too.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Mario, I enjoyed this, as with all your creative extensions. Nice trumpet squeals! I'll bet that those staccato kybd sounds are the section you borrowed--they really add something special!

However, re: disco...that era ended for me in Chicago on Thursday, July 12, 1979.

Thanx Ron. Yes those were octaves. Yes this type of music did go out of style. John Travolta can't dance anymore whistle

Thanx Janice and Bud. Don't feel bad Bud I can't dance either. Since I was 16 I was playing in bands and never got to dance. Now the only way I will dance is if the EMTs are in the room grin

Thanx for listening and commenting. It isn't my "lacking age" that keeps me from dancing. Now I move way to slow to even try to dance.

Thanx Ray, I agree. I never liked disco, thus my inability to emulate it.

Thanx Chay. Roger Moore is a much better dancer than I am. I can't dance at all.
