Andrew, this is on outstanding masterpiece. This hit home for me … I have no idea why my wife wed me 58 years ago; yes we have had a ton of "that" moments. (Watch the original movie Grease and you will see our story.) Great vocals and harmonies. Super groove and mix. One of your best for sure - loved it. Thanks Mario! 58 years - well done to you both! Can I assume it’s been that long because (in reference to your sign-off joke this week) you haven’t yet built up the courage to admit that your wife was wrong?😑 Andrew

Andrew, A nice backing track to support the song/lyric. I enjoyed your vocal and harmonies. But the "star" here is the song. A nice Love Song. I would call your middle bit the chorus - and What a tremendous chorus it is! Catchy! (heard a little George Harrison in there ) And an excellent bridge. Very much enjoyed The Song. fj

Love that middle part, Andrew. It's a real 'grabber'. The whole song has an adorable quality kinda like Escape (Pina Coladas).

A very cool chord structure and I think it'd make great easy flowing love song with professional vocals and particularly with lots of harmonies. A song with great potential.
Some favourite Waoist Adages: #1: Play on the Way. #13: Ask not for whom the flower blooms, it blooms for you. #58: Bring consciousness to it. #63: On the road to effortlessness, effort must be made. #92: Be Love Now, the rest will come on its own.

Thanks Chay - for the listen and your insights. While I probably would not use a professional singer or AI for vocals, I am glad that you could hear the musical idea I was trying to convey, and with my voice, that’s mission accomplished! Andrew

Wow, what a nice pop rock gem. Lovely lyrics feel really heartfelt. And the same can be said about your vocals, those excellent backing vocals lift up the "middle bit" to the sentimental heights, very catchy. Congratulations for that big reason to make this song Great sounding band, and the solo guitar fits well. Janne

Congratulations for that big reason to make this song Great sounding band, and the solo guitar fits well. Janne Thanks Janne! To be truthful, I didn’t change my vocal style to suit the lyrics - it just came out that way, but glad that I fluked it! I normally work out what BV treatment a song will get when I am recording and mixing - only occasionally have it during the writing phase. I was happy that the guitar solo didn’t sound too ‘country’ - I have an aversion to country. Thanks for listening and your comments. Andrew

Excellent! Love the pondering narrative. Forum member Noel once wrote a song about Bud expressing that he won life’s lotto when he met Janice So this tune is quite relatable. We like the open production with each track having a well defined place on the soundstage. Great on our Kali monitors. Your performances, the arrangement, the progress and the aforementioned mix are all standout. Well done, J&B
Our albums and singles are on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, Pandora and more. If interested search on Janice Merritt. Thanks! Our Videos

Hey,
This is a really well written song!
You really have a knack for extremely catchy pop songs that sounded like they may have been on the radio back in the hay day of hit radio songs.
I don't know if you ever heard a song called love grows where My Rosemary goes and nobody knows like me or something like that... I can't remember who did that song
. . Oh I just looked it up it was Edison Lighthouse... And as it turns out it was the first number one single of the 1970s.
The composition and mix kind of remind me of it a little bit.
Anyway great song man keep writing them!!

Your performances, the arrangement, the progress and the aforementioned mix are all standout. … Thank you so much J&B! Your comments about this mix and space for each instrument are good affirmation that I am on a good path. As a relatively new mixer, my aim is to find space for everything. I usually start with drums (stereo export from BIAB), bass and main vocal centred. Then I listen to the other instruments in terms of frequency range and rhythm/busyness and try not to have instruments with the same or close sitting in the same pan. Sometimes I will EQ guitars with high pass so that low ends are not muddying the waters and usually panned L R 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock. Of course, sometimes I deliberately don’t do the above if I want emphasis. My biggest challenge so far is to record good strummed acoustic guitars and I feel I haven’t got the mic proximity and EQ right yet, so I am going to do a bit of ‘lab testing’ to see how I can get a better result for these in future projects. Thank you for listening and your comments! Andrew

Anyway great song man keep writing them!! Thank you David! Yes, listened to that song many times and played it when I was in a band - I can see how the style is similar. There were also other similar songs of the era that shared the same vocalist*. Writing catchy songs is what I aim for, and because the 60s and 70s had a lot more melodic content, my songs tend to fall in that era’s sound. Recently, I have had a longing to write and record more 90s style music - a decade that doesn’t always get the dues it deserves - in one sense, a renaissance of the 60s and 70s. Thanks for listening and your comments! Andrew * As a prolific session musician, (Tony) Burrows was involved in several transatlantic hit singles throughout the late 1960s and early 1970s, most of which were one-hit wonders, including "Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes)" by Edison Lighthouse, "United We Stand" by Brotherhood of Man, "My Baby Loves Lovin'" by White Plains, "Gimme Dat Ding" by the Pipkins and "Beach Baby" by the First Class. Very cool lyric Andrew. Sometimes we can become complacent with our loved ones. These lyrics are perfect to remind us how special and important they are to us. Super vocal and backtrack was perfect for the tune. Well done
