Asked first with chat ... but could not get a yes or no answer.
Want to download my Ultrapak purchase to an external drive that will be used as my backup.
Can the install manager do this or is it strictly for installing the program ?

Yes, you can download the files to any hard drive. Just choose your 'Download Location' in the bottom left area. It will install the files from that location, provided you have "Automatically Install downloaded files" checked.
If the files are downloaded but not installed, you can come back later and just point to that folder, and it will install them from there. You can also move your download folder manually to a different location/hard drive even if you have already downloaded - you just need to point the Install Manager at the new location.

Thanks for the reply but it's still not clear to me. I do not want to install at this time .... I just want to download the files from your website to my hard drive. Will install manager do that ? or Is the install manager only for installation after the files have already been downloaded ?

I have a question related to this...
My internet connection is not particularly fast.
I have ordered the Audiophile upgrade and am waiting for the SSD to be delivered.
It will not be possible for me to download the entire 180 GB in one session.
Does the download manager allow me to pause download at any point, switch off my laptop, and then resume at a later stage?

Yes. Download manager allows downloads to be paused and then continued at a later time.
