Hi Marty,

Just saw your post of this song and then saw I already heard it 9 months ago!?!
So listened again, because it is a very nice song, the melody, the vocals, the lyrics... Just great!
Enjoyed it again,

Hans

Marty, I really enjoyed this. I was immediately engaged with the poppy rhythm and style--and, as always, entertained and impressed with your lyric story, rhymes, and melody line. Great work!!

Another classic by Strauss of our forum. Everything is screaming perfectness - the melody is catchy and unforgettable (I don't have to mention that it has played in my head many times during my walks), the band is smooth - the baritone guitar and the bass build the solid foundation for the mood. The vocals are emotional and that bridge part "she claimed it just couldn't be" is pure gold. And the story structure is one of my favorites, over the moon start and then the bittersweet continuation, "I need to find a friend who will stay until the end,and all it takes is just one night. One night." - what a great way to end with the confident flicker of the flame of hope. You deserve the Songwriter of the Year award, I'm sure Santa knows that too smile

Well, we guess they lived happily ever after ... with other partners. 😉

Your vocals and bass were extra warm on this and, like others, we really enjoyed the bridge.

The RT guitar solo was a good one.

A very creative twist on the love lost theme.

Well done and Happy Holidays!

I love how you always sing so positively about sad things.
It makes me smile every time.
I think your statement on YouTube "I can't sing for crap" should be reconsidered, because I think your voice is getting better and better with age.
Like a good French wine!
Love the song, the production, and especially your vocals.

Thanks, Brain. It's the ancient Sophist in me --argue either side of an arument. My YT statement goes on to say ...so I sing for fun, or something ike that. These days I actually practice singing a song for a few weeks before turning on the red record light. Also, I drink cabernet. laugh

Thanks, Scott. Yeah, it may not be as good, but I prefer the creative process instead of letting Ai have all the fun. There are so many incredibly good Suno songs now that the Ai process obviously works so much better than my clunky one. But I am having fun.

Thanks, Scott. There was an implied happy ending. They both learned so much from their first attempt, that their 2nd "One Nights" lasted 50 years. "Love is easier the second time around." hehe

Your vocals express those emotions very well.
The guitar solo in the interlude is a great touch.
As always, your video was a great help in understanding the lyrics.
Enjoyed my listen and watch a lot.

Best regards.

Thank you, Shigeki. Sadness and hope should always coexist. If I remember, that solo was almost right out of the Box, maybe one or 2 measures regenerated.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Thanks, Dave. Spacey, right? Bridges to me are a whole different song that is connected in some ways.

Yeah, sorry, Hans. That's how far behind I am. Today I'll be posting my 30th new one for this year, and I have 20 others ready to go. Thanks, buddy.

Thanks, Janne. I only reach the vapors from the coattails of Strauss when I aim for Vivaldi. You know, Janne, I'd trade every song I ever wrote to be with ya on those walks. Claim/gold... I like that. Thanks for being with me on this walk, buddy.

Thanks, Janice & Bud. Extra warm happy holidays to you both. Yeah, love-lost was just the first awkward step in finding it.

Marty the storyteller strikes again. The effect on the "time flew by" section was unexpected but cool sounding. I like that the persona isn't bitter about his situation. I think this shows the optimism of the writer. Melody works well with an underlying subtle ebullience in the accompaniment.

Another excellent tune Marty. I got a chuckle out of the song note setup. What a cool groove to this tune. Cool backtrack, awesome vocal and lyric. Harmonies were very cool. Well done..

Thanks, Scott. Yeah, I encouraged his sense of hope when he realized the whole experience was an education. The band joined me in that endeavor.
