Not Bad

This is why I mostly do instrumentals!

I am playing my Jay Turser jazz box guitar and attempting to sing.

The lyrics are on Soundtrack.

BiaB style - Mancini Slow w/acoustic piano
Tempo - 65 BPM
I deleted the string track
Bass - Ample Bas - Upright
Drums - the audio track from the style
Piano - EZKeys2 - upright piano - 70's ballad
Guitar- Kontakt - Soundprops - Jazz L4 v2

I am playing my Jay Turser jazz box guitar and attempting to sing.

As always all comments are welcomed.

No, not bad, Mario, it's excellent! The music, etc, is superb - it'd be fun to hear someone like Astrud Gilberto singing it! - but your vocals give it authenticity.

You should sing more often Mario! Good song and good singing - so good to hear the human voice with a song.
... and your guitar solo was not bad either! When you mentioned in your song 'shredding', I was wondering if you were still talking about the cheese?

BTW - that pick? I'd go look where you found your keys if I were you.

Well done!

Andrew

Not bad, not bad at all! It served the song, so you did well. I'm in the same boat. Never was a shredder, but I can only play the slow stuff now. If that. Enjoyed the humorous aspect of this as well. Happy Holidays!

The vocal suits the song REALLY well.
A cool, amusing rumination on aging.
Ace.

Funny and VERY cool, Mario. LOVE the "shredding" solo, and the demo of it's WHAT notes you play, not HOW MANY that really matters. "Not bad for a man" of any age. Ha! Where IS that guitar pick???

I LOVE the lyrics (even though I'm not part of your target audience yet) and the vocals aren't bad either.
Maybe a little less reverb so they fit better with the rest of the band.
Enjoyed my listen smile

Mario,

This is probably my favorite from you to date. Boy can I ever relate to those lyrics! Your vocals are perfect for this slow swing jazzy sound! Mario, you are a talented dude!! Don't slow down or stop making your music because we appreciate what you do and realize that you are a vital part of this community!

Take care, TB

Thanx Chay. It would be much better is anyone other than me sang!

Thanx Andrew. Thanx for the singing and guitar playing comments. I did find my pick! Now all I have to do is find my guitar wink

Thanx Bob. I do like humor in songs. I never was a shredder either and even when the pros do all I hear is a bunch of notes with no melody. Have a Merry Christmas.

Ace.

Thanx so much Ray. I am reluctant to sing as I am not very good at it so thanx for that vocal comment.

Thanx so much Ron for this wonderful review. I never could shred. Shredding to me is just a bunch of notes with no melody. I guess I am showing my age with that comment!

Thanx Brian. If I ever sing again I will try using less reverb. I'm glad you liked it.

{edit} PS Brian you might want to take notes as aging creeps up on you very fast!

Thanx Torrey for this wonderful review. Actually the Stones said it best "what a drag it is getting old"!
I will never slow down or stop making music. If I can play my instruments anymore it will be RT time.

Hey MarioD, I thought this was just a hoot! The line that I really remember is getting injured in bed - LOL. I actually liked the reverb that sounded kind of tunnel like - I think it added to the old man dang I am aging vibe. (BTW I am up there with you)

I have some questions for you from a Noob user here.

Thanks for mentioning the style - I will check that out. What I didn't quite grasp was your mention of sound choices. Do I take it that somehow you didn't use the RT sounds that came with that style in BIAB? For instance why did you use EZKeys instead of the loaded BIAB piano? And how does such a replacement work? By my naive understanding in EZKeys, one has to create a song with the program with chords and styles. What does one do in such a case? Your description fascinates me, so I am curious with the what and why of these choices or substitutions.

Ooo and hows about a picture of your jazz box guitar? I play an Ibanez GB10se hollow-body and love it!!
