I open the Style Picker, then select Category, and next to each genre or sub-genre, it shows the number of styles for each category and the number found - see attached. I am on the Ultrapak 2024 (about to upgrade to 2026) so why is the number 'found' less than the total when I am on the Ultrapak? I believe (from a friend) this missing count also occurs on the 2026 Ultrapak. Why is there a difference in found number, and how do I rectify this? FOMO. Andrew
Yup, the "Count" once again raises it's ugly head! LOL Same problem I had last year (see my post below "For any of you doing a "clean install" of the ULTRA PAK ..." The numbers just don't seem to add up. My PGM support person last year suggested a re-download and re-install etc. I know I'm retired and have time on my hands, but I have better things to use it on. YMMV
I have seen this same thing for a long time. The numbers are way off. In 2026 I have some numbers where the 'found' is actually higher than 'Ultrapak'. Most of the 'found' are way lower than the 'Ultrapak' counts. Sometimes by thousands.
I have the same issue after an upgrade to the Ultrapak 2026, as attached. It would be nice to know how these numbers are derived, if it’s just misinformation or if we’ve been shortchanged of styles. Heaven knows I won’t be reinstalling again, had a nightmare reinstalling the upgrade the first time!
The numbers in the most recent screenshot here matches what I see in an UltraPAK test, so you definitely have an UltraPAK.
I would not suggest comparing "found" vs. "ultrapak" in the category menu - it is most likely considering some Xtra styles to be part of the Ultra, so this is more accurately a "found" vs. "available". In any case we'll try to fix the values reported there, but it may be more useful for us to include a total number at the top and just list found numbers only beside each category, as there could be many reasons for the numbers not to match up.
I would also not suggest reinstalling - there are not many situations where a full reinstall is beneficial. If you think you missed one of the RealTracks installers a better approach would be to check the Install Manager (if this was a download), and/or the RealTracks Picker to see if there are any sets reported missing there, and/or the 'What addons' dialog.
In the StylePicker, the number right above the list of styles is the total number of styles you have ("xxxx items in list). If you have the most recent build/version of Band-in-a-Box, it knows about all available styles, and you can easily find the total number of available styles by first clearing the filter if you have one, and then going to Other (drop down menu) | Show styles that are found /not found | Show All styles including N/A. Now the number "xxx items in list" will be the total number of PG Music styles available, which as of today is just over 12,600. If you go back to that menu and select ONLY show N/A styles, then you'll see only those styles you are missing. Sort them by category and scroll through them - there may be a few thousand styles but there are only a few categories of styles that are NOT in an UltraPAK - which are styles like Xtra, XPro, and some LoopsPAK.
Thank you David, that’s a very comprehensive reply and has eased my mind.
I did as you said, and stylepicker shows 12,649 available. I also checked NA, and that shows 4,906, and these are all the additional packs you mentioned.
My accounting brain does like to see numbers tally and my ducks in a row, so as you suggest a number at the top of numbers found would be better.
I have used Band in a box for years and have bought many extra styles packs. I have Band in a box installed on 3 workstations that I use, and all three show different numbers of total styles when I go to the styles picker. How do I make sure that I have all the styles loaded that I have purchased over the years? Bruce Milleman
If I was seeking to synchronise installed versions of BIAB, I'd do the following...
Enter Stylepicker and click on the "Add-ons" in the middle of the window above the list of styles. I'd then compare the information found in each of the 13 text boxes on all three computers to see what is missing between each computer.
