Up until today I could drag the C7 icon in the BiaB DAW plugin to the chord track in Studio One and the chords would input. Now when I drag the C7 icon to the chord track and hover, a red circle with a diagonal line through it is displayed, and the chords will not drop. If I drop the C7 contents on a MIDI track, the contents are revealed to be two bars of MIDI: a count in of 1,3,1,2,3,4 on C1.
UPDATE: After some more experimentation, I've found that the Save Chords to MIDI file function in the BiaB DAW plugin produces the identical two bar count-in as dragging the C7 icon. So it APPEARS the entire "chord to MIDI" drag and drop function is not working. The question is: Is it something I can correct? Or is it a bug to report?
I have the latest versions of BiaB, Studio One and Windows 11. I haven't changed any settings lately that I recall, and I'm ALMOST positive I've used this chord input method with BiaB 2026 over the past couple of weeks. Just not today. And I haven't been tinkering with settings that I can recall.
Any ideas? Anyone with a Studio One setup able to do a quick drag-and-drop chord import test?
THANKS!

So under Preferences in the VST, the Chord Export Option needed to be set (or reset in my case) to "Chord Label & Block Chord". Now works fine. Will mark "resolved".

Yeah, a self-inflicted wound I'm sure. Now that I think it through, I think I mis-dragged the Chord-to-MIDI contents once, got a MIDI file instead of a populated Chord Track, and thinking I must have a wrong setting in the VST, changed it to "Chord Names Only". Live and learn...

Is it possible the other way round? Draging the chord track from Studio one into the plugIn?
I cannot find any Manual, video or other information that is not outdated for years. Am I too blind or doesn't the plugIn get some love from PG Music. One would think that the plugIn is important for many users.

You can go via a midi file. Select the whole chord track in Studio One Drag it into a new instrument track Export selection to Midi In the BIAB plugin : File/ Load chords from midi file

There is manual. In Studio One under Help / Studio One Reference Manual
Search for Chord Track and there is everything you can do with the chord track and quite a bit down is
"Create NoteEvents from Chord Track"
I also have difficulty using the manual and seldom finds what I am looking for, but sometimes it can be useful.
I mostly search on Google or YouTube or trail and error.
(I have the manual in StudioOnePro 7, but in Fender StudeoPro 8 it is just a blank page, it is probably not installed correctly .... edit: I just reinstalled it it works now))

Yes, there is a Manual for Fender Studio Pro. And there are a lot of Video Tutorials explaining details. I miss a Manual and Tutorials for the Band in a Box PlugIn.
And, maybe because of the user community size, DIY does bring a lot of Information for the DAW, but almost none for the plugIn. If any, they come from PG Music and are "ages old".

There is some "manual type" information on the web page. It holds quite a lot of information and several videos about BIAB DAW (it is a bit strange that it is not included in the manual as well). The manual type information is a bit down the page.
useful information again, thank you. I never scrolled down enough to see this.
And it might have some content I am unaware so far. Yet, all this is more or less outdated. The announcement of BiaB 26 claimed new features for the PlugIn as well, but no specific Information about what is new did follow.

different People have different needs. For me the PlugIn is no inferiour gadget. So great the full fledged Band in a Box is (and I know what can be done), and so nice it is to work with Band in a Box and drag tracks in my DAW later, may be even after adding some changes that are only possible deploying Real Band; I for one prefer a tight Integration with my DAW for various reasons. And I am one of those who use 10% of the many features and neglect 90%. So, what I miss to have real fun is a tighter Integration of the PlugIn with my DAW. I miss a Manual, I miss updated Information, I would love to see funktions added not for Reaper but for my DAW as well (and the Reaper Funktions added give proof that is is possible to show some love for the Plugin from PG Music Side).
To be precise, the Band in a Box DAW PlugIn sits always next to other PlugIns in my Track List. Others are in Sync with the DAW. They follow the chord track, even when I make changes to the Chord Track or add chords on the fly. These days the Band in a Box DAW PlugIn can be found together with tonalics (just to give a rael life example).
So I wondered if I may at least populate the chord page of the PlugIn from what I have so far in my chord track. And I start my work in the DAW, and a chord track is among the first entries I make. So it would be nice if could drag this into the PlugIn. Even better if changes within the DAW would reflect in the PlugIn. This would really make my Day.
And I expect that there is Information available what can be done, what needs a workaround (and if so, which) or what woun't work. But it isn't availabel! I wish that PG Music would show some love for the PlugIn. Not treat it as a minor gadget.

An impresssive list. Where was it hidden? And while it says Version 8 from 2026, it seems to be the list from 2025. For example: keep your eye on the beat is not a new feature.
Thank you for the list! To answer your question where I need a help file - somewhere easy to find. But maybe you wanted to know for what I need a help file. A new function might need more than an entry about it is available. It might need some additional Information how to use it.
And that is why manuals exist. People like me require some heps once in a while. You know, sometimes people in forums do answer requests with "RTFM". Existense of a manual is a given! A commodity. And best acompanied with a context aware help function, so no one needs to search in a 600 pages document.
Don't get me wrong, I do not demand all this from you. I want PG Music to provide these commodities. In Europe, it is not allowed to deliver goods without a manual. It is a fundamental right for a customer to have that. I just find it strange that I get the feeling form your posts that I need to explain the need for Information.

202 New RealTracks Released with Band-in-a-Box 2026!
With Band-in-a-Box® 2026, we've released 202 incredible new RealTracks (in sets 468-488) in a variety of genres—featuring your most requested styles!
Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). If you love funk & gospel, there are great new options this year, including gospel organ (3) from Charles Treadway, as well as new funk, tango, and rock ’n’ roll drums (3) and bass (1). And for big, bold arrangements, we have uptempo soul horns (4) featuring a three-part hip horn section with options for a full mix or stems of each individual horn — plus an accompanying rhythm section (4) of drums, bass, guitar, and electric piano!
Rock & Pop (Sets 476–482):
Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.
Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.
And, if you are looking for more, the 2026 49-PAK (for $49) includes an impressive collection of 20 bonus RealTracks, featuring exciting and inspiring additions to add to your RealTracks library. You'll get new country-rhythm guitar styles from PG Music favorites Johnny Hiland and Brent Mason, along with modern-pop grooves that capture today’s radio-ready sound! There are also new indie-folk styles with guitar, bass, 6-string bass used as a high-chording instrument, acoustic guitar, and banjo. Plus, dedicated "cymbal fills" RealDrums provide an added layer that work very well with low-key folky styles with other percussion.
