Background story: My distribution service SongTradr refused to release one of my songs because they (more specifically, their service provider "The Source") flagged the song as AI-generated. I am currently challenging this (most likely unsuccessfully), as the song was written long before AI entered our lives. I think this will happen more often in the future, as I currently use AI vocals (not lyrics) for my songs quite frequently. Anyway, that's my problem... But: Since I know firsthand that my lyrics were all written by human intelligence (or whatever remains of it), I found a service that checks lyrics, and the results show that about a third of my songs (I didn't check all of them) were written by AI, including my song "A Dream Within A Dream", which uses lyrics by Edgar Allan Poe. Proof that Edgar must have had a time machine I am now even further from believing anything from AI, and I actually have a pretty positive attitude toward AI because I did AI research at university in a former life. Edit (because it's even funnier): The US national anthem is also AI generated. (For your copy&paste convenience, I have included Poe's poem below so you can try it out for yourself) Most of Your Text is AI/GPT Generated Take this kiss upon the brow! And, in parting from you now, Thus much let me avow — You are not wrong, who deem That my days have been a dream; Yet if hope has flown away In a night, or in a day, In a vision, or in none, Is it therefore the less gone? All that we see or seem Is but a dream within a dream.
I stand amid the roar Of a surf-tormented shore, And I hold within my hand Grains of the golden sand — How few! yet how they creep Through my fingers to the deep, While I weep — while I weep! O God! Can I not grasp Them with a tighter clasp? O God! can I not save One from the pitiless wave? Is all that we see or seem But a dream within a dream?

It's obvious that 'AI is now everything'. Or should that be 'everything is AI' ?
And is this only tip of the iceberg?

That's yet another example of AI slop. I'm sorry you are having to deal with it.
And that slop from my research is prevalent in many, many aspects of AI. (particularly in the chat "rooms") As a psychologist I find much of it distressing and/or dangerous.

And is this only tip of the iceberg? I'm afraid so. Worse are the things that no one notices.

Bud From a psychological perspective, it is also extremely interesting. I know someone who talks excessively with ChatGPT about his childhood traumas. I guess this is because people feel anonymous when talking to a bot. The same behavior can also be found in certain forums.

Thanks for the links, JJJ Apparently, they all know Poe and the US national anthem But: I just tested all three with the lyrics off my latest song (lyrics, written without any AI, are in the second post) - GPTZero: 100% Human
- QuilBot: 100% Human
- CopyLeaks: 100% AI
All 100% (implies they are certain of the result), not even one with anything in between. Maybe they're just rolling dice...

No, Nevermore is the answer by the Raven. I believe he was making a funny about lyrics being attributed to the wrong author. The Alan Parsons Project did an Edgar Allan Poe themed album titled "Tales of Mystery and Imagination", which included a song called "The Raven". It's doubly wrong, because Eric Woolfson was the lyricist for the group. I'm not counting Eric's "POE: More Tales of Mystery and Imagination", because it's not technically an APP album. Plus, it's more the soundtrack to the musical instead of a stand-alone album.

Oh my God… why didn’t you guys tell me this earlier?
I just spent $10,000 on an RTX 5090 and an NVIDIA DGX Spark.
And now you’re telling me it can’t even tell the difference between Edgar Allan Poe, the US national anthem, and my own lyrics?
Fantastic.
I could have saved a fortune and just rolled dice. At least the dice wouldn’t claim 100% certainty while disagreeing with themselves.
Guess I’ll go ask the Raven what GPU he was using.
Nevermore… 😄
“Amazing! I’ll be working with Jaco Pastorius, Charlie Parker, Art Tatum, and Buddy Rich, and you’re telling me it’s not that great of a gig? “Well…” Saint Peter, hesitated, “God’s got this girlfriend who thinks she can sing…”
