Hi, I just now upgraded from 2022 and I'm making my way around the new GUI.
In version 2022 I frequently used the "CAPO" option from the Views section under "Chord Display". There was a drop down box that let me select the capo position, or no capo position. It was very handy when transposing a song but while using a capo.
Did that disappear in the 2026 version, or am I missing it from some other button or window that's new to the 2026 version?
BIAB & RB2026 Win.(Audiophile), Windows 10 Pro & Windows 11, Cakewalk Bandlab, Izotope Prod.Bundle, Roland RD-1000, Synthogy Ivory, Session Keys Grand S & Electric R, Kontakt, Focusrite 18i20, KetronSD2, NS40M, Pioneer Active Monitors.
That's exactly where I thought it should be, but when I click on Chord Display absolutely nothing happens. No drop down window. Nothing. That's why I thought that maybe it was removed from the new GUI.
After reading your reply, I reset the preferences and everything else I could think of short of reinstalling and still nothing happens. All other buttons in that screen provide a drop down menu, but not Chord Display. At least now I know it hasn't been removed from the new GUI. But now I'm out of ideas on how to make that button do its thing.
UPDATE: Now I think I might have discovered a bug.
After rebooting and trying more things, I did some searching and it was recommended online to delete or rename the intrface.bbw file and then restart the BBW program, which I did and BINGO, the Chord Display button gave me the drop down menu. I was overjoyed! But then I clicked on the floating mixer option and floated the mixer like I had originally done, and ZAP - no more Chord Display drop down menu at all. After Re-docking the mixer, the button worked correctly again. Rinse and repeat, every time. I tried other actions similar to the mixer docking / floating, but nothing killed off the Chord Display button like the floating mixer did. So, unless I'm missing some kind of thing that I'm doing wrong, I'm thinking it's a bug in the code. Perhaps someone has other ideas?

Hmmmm. I'm not able to reproduce that. Perhaps try Options > Return to Factory Setting > Most and see if that resolves.
Please let us know the outcome.

Band-in-a-Box® for Windows Version 2026 (1217) 64 bit application
Just bought and downloaded via the Download Install Manager yesterday 12-22-25.
Desktop Processor AMD Ryzen 7 5700G with Radeon Graphics 3.80 GHz Installed RAM 16.0 GB (13.9 GB usable) Storage 932 GB SSD PNY CS2230 1TB SSD, 3.64 TB HDD ST4000DM005-2DP166, 224 GB SSD C2S3T/240G, 466 GB SSD Samsung SSD 860 EVO 500GB, 1.82 TB HDD TOSHIBA DT01ACA200 Graphics Card AMD Radeon(TM) Graphics (2 GB) System Type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor Edition Windows 10 Pro Version 22H2 OS Build 19045.6466 Monitors: Dell 2209WA (Primary) ASUS PA248QV HP w2207 All monitor AMD drivers are current and installed. Motherboard MSI B550M Pro-VDH WIFI
UPDATE: While gathering info for this post, I did some experimenting and found the answer - but not the total solution:
My system has 3 monitors as referenced above. They are arranged in the system settings (and on my desk) in a triangle orientation with the HP w2207 (monitor #1) at the top of the triangle. The ASUS PA248QV (monitor #2) is at the bottom left of the triangle and the Dell 2209WA (monitor #3) is the primary monitor (main display). All monitors are set to extend the desktop to the display.
The Dell 2209WA (monitor #3) is the monitor that the computer boots to with the CMOS settings available via the del key, and it is the monitor that Windows 10 comes up on and is the primary usage monitor thus it is the one that BIAB is used on. The ASUS PA248QV (monitor #2) is always OFF unless I'm doing some video or photo post processing.
When I'm using BIAB it is on the Dell 2209WA (monitor #3) with the ASUS off. I found that when pressing the "Chord Display" button with the mixer docked, the drop down list appears just below the "Chord Display" button. When I have the mixer floating on any monitor and the BIAB pgm is still on the DELL, the drop down list appears on the ASUS PA248QV (monitor #2) which is always OFF, so in all of yesterday's experimenting, the drop down list WAS appearing, I just didn't expect it or see it on the ASUS because it is always off. (Kind of a "duh, I should have known that" moment....). Interestingly I moved the BIAB pgm to the other displays, and with the mixer floating to any other display the "Chord Display" button works perfectly and the drop down list appears below the "Chord Display" button on the display that BIAB is running on.
I still have BIAB version 2022 installed so I experimented with it, and the drop down list consistently only appears on the screen below the button, and never on any other monitor, and consistently when running from any monitor or configuration.
So, the bottom line here is that the "Chord Display" button IS working, and the drop down list IS appearing. I would think that coding the drop down list to appear ONLY within the confines of the main BIAB program would be the solution to this situation. The drop down list is not a floating window, so if its location is fixed and appears in the middle of the screen then all would be good for everyone.
Thanks for your responses, much appreciated. I wrote this detailed reply so you could see what I have found out, and so that the info could be forwarded to the proper department at PG Music so they would have all of these details available to them.
Please let me know if any clarification on any point or any additional info is needed.
Thanks for the feedback and update. I was quite puzzled as to what might cause the issue you experienced. I definitely could not reproduce the problem.
Knowing about multiple monitors definitely adds a dimension that was difficult to anticipate.

That's very interesting, thanks for posting all those details. I'm sure we'll be able to fix that.
Thanks, I know that sometimes these things slip through the cracks on a new roll-out, but I really appreciate PG Music (and your) attention to fixing and improvements.
I've been a BIAB user way back since the MIDI only days, back before Adam and Eve went out on their first date, and it's been a very enjoyable part of my life for all of these years. Thanks for a great product and continual effort.

Making a project such as BIAB work with the various and probably infinite variations of user's equipment and situations must be a major challenge for PG Music, but they've done a fine job through the years.
I do appreciate your and the others' efforts to try to help. Having the ability to bounce a problem around to seek solutions here is a great relief knowing you're not on your own.
In my experience with using multiple monitors, if a particular monitor is turned off, I have to make sure that my operating system doesn't think it's on.
In my experience with using multiple monitors, if a particular monitor is turned off, I have to make sure that my operating system doesn't think it's on.
My MO is to make sure all windows are docked on the monitors that I want them to be on when I turn off the monitor that I'm not using. That way those same windows (should) pop up on those same monitors, (hopefully) eliminating the need to turn on the not-used monitor just to move a window..... Usually if it's a program, the tab for it can be seen on the taskbar so I'll know something went over to the other monitor, but not the case in the situation in this thread because it's not a separate program that is running. To change the monitor config in the OS settings just to "mute" or eliminate that one monitor would be a major repetitive needless PIA.
Huge kudos to Andrew and PG Music for addressing the situation. That is much appreciated.

I just now installed build 1224, and the same thing still happens with the Chord Display button. The popup window goes off the screen to the left outside the primary monitor and displays on the secondary monitor which is usually off.
Is it just the Chord Display popup menu, or does the same thing happen with the Fakesheet button next to it? What about other popup menus like the Save As button in the top toolbar?

I tried them all, and it is only the Chord Display popup menu. When it pops up on the 2nd monitor, the right side of the pop up window is fixed on what appears to be the exact right edge of the 2nd monitor. In other words, not floating any distance to the left from the right edge. It is fixed also about an inch down from the top edge. It is a "box" window like the layers and fake sheet window, not like a window such as the "save as" window with the x at the upper right. Also, if it helps in your diagnosis, I have never had this popup window situation occur with any other program on this computer with this monitor configuration which has been in service for several years, so I'm not suspecting an OS or graphics problem locally here, but who knows? If you need, I can shoot screen shots and send them over. Whatever would help you I'll be glad to do. Thanks
