I'm not sure if I follow correctly. Can you let us know exactly what did this button do?

OK, thanks. That's labelled as the 'Edit Phrases and Loops' button.
I'm not sure that it appears in the 2026 version. I'll make some inquiries.

Yes, MoultiPass, the button you have highlighted above is what I am referring to.
This feature has become my preferred method of eliminating the infrequent, but noticable, instances when BIAB's concatenation of RealTrack riffs leaves an audio artifact at a "seam". Rather than having to regenerate, I can simply edit the offending riff to begin a fraction later while extending the previous riff into any gap. I would be very disappointed to see this feature deprecated as it makes the Track View of no utility for me.
Regards, Shawn

This button means so much to me that I reinstalled version 1128 just to take the photo.
I've reinstalled 2024 it just so that I can have the functionality back. I use it for the same reason as ShawnR mentioned. For me, partial regenerations are unusable without it as it's the only way to fix all redundant overlaps which get created. If it isn't re-implemented then this is another massive step backwards.
Okay, I like this feature too. But this morning I realized that I've gotten so used to the new 2026 ergonomics (not even 1 month!) that I was slightly confused when switching back to the 2025 version. For a few long seconds, I couldn't find the Tracks view anymore. I'd have a hard time going back.

For me it's an absolute necessity and I'm surprised more users aren't complaining about it disappearing. This makes me wonder if a lot of users never realised what you can fix with it.
Basically, if you do a lot of partial regeneration then the overlaps between bars get messed up and stuck causing audio glitches that are hard to get rid of, like a bunch of very short segments of audio that no longer get overwritten with a regeneration. Easily fixed by using the edit phrases and loops by deleting them or dragging out the affected areas.
Your points are noted. We've raised it with the powers that be. Hopefully this will be resolved in a soon to be released patch.

As far as I know , that button has been eliminated in 2026. It's still possible to edit unwanted audio in the audio edit view. This can be done by cutting the unwanted audio or using the envelope volume.

Hello jpettit,
Big step backwards if the previous 'Edit Phrases and Loops' functionality has been deprecated.
I'm sure I'm not the only user who tends to not be 100% satisfied with the more or less random riff concatenation that one gets when using, say, a sax solo instrument RT. This is why I often regenerate the solo instrument (via MultiRiff) measure-by-measure. These regenerations sometimes leave audio artifacts at the riff's "seams". I've learned what these artifact look like on the Tracks view which allows me to quickly identify the specific instrument that is causing the problem.
The 'Edit Phrases and Loops' button then allows me to edit the offending riff directly within the same Tracks view, i.e. without the need to jump to another view as you suggest above. It also allows me to quickly extend the preceding riff as necessary which I don't believe can be done from the audio edit view.
Not trying to be pedantic, but taking this opportunity to make sure to thoroughly describe the workflow so that PG Product Manager(s) understand the results of omitting this feature in the new GUI.

ShawnR, Are you familiar with Ctrl+F8 method at Track View?
This is kind of what causes the issue because it's difficult, or sometimes impossible to create seamless transitions between regenerations because it does weird things, also it doesn't regenerate only the selected area every time. Either way, with edit phrase you could easily lengthen or shorten the window to fix these issues quickly and efficiently - or in cases where it leaves behind "ghost" regenerated areas and dead-zones, you could drag the edge of window out of the way, delete the affected parts and then drag the window back in place again.
Lee, No sure if you are replying to my message to Shawn or general thread reply? If replying to my comment, I found that Ctrl+F8 method is fastest, smoothest (seamless) and most granular way to work with Real Tracks - musically.

I was replying to you Ctrl F8 doesn't eliminate the problems I am talking about and is far from seamless. Maybe it's the type of tracks we use that makes things better, worse or more forgiving? I use mostly guitar realtracks and soloists and this functionality was essential to me.
"Ctrl F8 doesn't eliminate the problems I am talking about". I was actually replying to Shawn, but... Have you spent time with Ctrl+F8 method? If so, how long? 2-10 minutes or longer? I used it for many hours, different instruments. Rhythm and soloists, to my taste it is the most powerful tool BIAB has to offer as far as partial regens go.
