My current version is BIAB2026 (1220).

I like to use Enter and Shift pressed at the same time to play chords.
Also, sometimes I press Enter, Shift, and Ctrl together.

My problem is that sometimes when I press them, the chords don’t play, and I don’t know why. I have to press really hard for them to play.

My keyboard is fine.
Could it be that BIAB has designed some kind of velocity or sensitivity adjustment?

I hope it could be more sensitive. I want to be able to play chords with a light touch. Right now, sometimes when I press, it doesn’t play, which is very frustrating.

Can BIAB officially help me fix this?

Have you tried holding Shift and then pressing Enter?

I have been using this feature all the time. So, I won’t make a mistake.

Pressing enter and shift together on the right side plays the chord.
Enter, shift, and ctrl together can play the second chord in a 1/2 bar.

I always use this method to listen to the chord effect.
But the problem is that sometimes when I press it, there is no sound.

Could it be that the chord dialog doesn't currently have focus, e.g. you might have clicked elsewhere on the display?

I've had a look through the manual and there is no shortcut for CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER
There only shortcut listed for playing chords is SHIFT+ENTER

CTRL SHIFT ENTER was added later.

Try SHIFT ENTER, can it play every time? Definitely not.

You write a series of chords, and sometimes it won't respond.

I've had a similar problem many times un the past, suddenly, preview chords atopped working for no apparent reason.
RTFS or changing the midi / drivers used to solve the problem in most (not all) the cases.
It was really annoying.

I found that it should be a driver issue.
Under the MME driver, previewing chords often stutters.

Have you tried increasing your audio interface buffers? Many times when using my DAW I have to either increase or decrease the buffers. It depends on what I am trying to do, i.e. record or play back. My problem is my 15 year old win 10 computer.

My wife had her driving test today.
She got 8 out of 10.
The other 2 jumped out of the way!

Under the MME driver, is it also possible to increase the audio interface buffer?
I haven't tried it. I use BIAB not for recording work, just for listening to chords and music styles.

I don't profess to know what might be causing your problem.

However, in case it's latency, there is a really good article here about optimizing the latency of audio interfaces.

The buffers would be for your audio interface, commonly called a sound card. In my case it increase and decrease the buffers in my Roland Octa-Capture audio interface. I decrease them when recording so I do not get any latency and increase them for problem free listening.

I know your ASIO driver should allow selection of the number of buffers. This is possible because you often get different performance for playback versus recording.

I am not aware of adjustments for MME or for WSAPI.

Based on my experience, BIAB doesn’t perform well when used with ASIO.
Therefore, I have never set BIAB's AUDIO to use the ASIO driver.

My bad! Buffers are only for ASIO and do not work for MME or WSAPI.
Sorry for any confusion.

You are very fortunate, or you have some very high-end hardware.

Or is OM talking about using ASIO in RB?
