I wrote this song a couple of years ago. Hope you like it.

I ONCE BELIEVED IN SUPERMAN, AND A RAINBOWS POT OF GOLD
SANTA CLAUSE , THE EASTER BUNNY TOO
I ONCE BELIEVED IN FAIRY TALES AND MONSTERS
AND ONCE I BELIEVED IN YOU

I ONCE BELIEVED THE HEROS IN THE MOVIES WERE ALL REAL
AND WISHED THAT I COULD DO THE THINGS THEY DO
I ONCE BELIEVED SO MANY LIES THAT PEOPLE SAID
AND BABY, I BELIEVED IN YOU

YEAH I ONCE BELIEVED IN YOU. YEAH I ONCE BELIEVED IN YOU
BELIEVED YOU LOVED ME TO THE MOON AND BACK, BELIEVED EVERY WORD YOU SAID WAS TRUE
YEAH I ONCE BELIEVED IN YOU. GUESS I WAS A FOOL
YOU BROKE MY HEART IN PIECES, CAUSE I ONCE BELIEVED IN YOU

PEOPLE ALWAYS SAY, TIME WILL HEAL A BROKEN HEART
BUT THIS HEART OF MINE IS SAYING IT AIN'T TRUE
I ONCE BELIEVED OUR LOVE WOULD LAST FOREVER
CAUSE I ONCE BELIEVED IN YOU

SO MANY THINGS I THOUGHT WERE TRUE WERE NEVER TRUE AT ALL
SO BELIEVING, IS SO VERY HARD TO DO
AND I WONDER IF I'LL EVERY TRUST IN LOVE AGAIN
LIKE I PUT MY TRUST IN YOU

Hi Sol!
At first glance, I thought your song was about a believer becoming an atheist, but no, it’s a good ol’ brokenhearted love song! So much of love is about belief (or trust). I love it when your signature backing vocals come in.
Well done.

I arrived early to a restaurant.
The manager asks, "do you mind waiting a bit?"
I said no.
"Good", he said. "Take these drinks to table 3"

Thank you Andrew. It's hard to pick a favorite of my songs (like picking favorite children), but this would certainly be in there.

Sol, super write, and really well delivered. Great arrangement, and your vocals are emotive without being cloying, which is harder to do than you make it sound. Nice backing band and your backing vocals are quite lovely as well.

Sucks that it can take pain to inspire beauty, but that can be the gift of a broken heart.

Thank you so much. I had to look up "cloying". lol. But when I read what you said about "a gift of a broken heart", I thought that would be a great line in a song. Would you mind if I used it to write a song?

Hi, Sol.

What they said! Great opening to the song, and the rest isn't bad, either. wink

Nice harmonies! smile

I

Here's the song I just wrote last night about "the gift of a broken heart". This morning I recorded it with SUNO by playing guitar and singing it. So, it's my lyrics, chords and melody.......and this is what it came up with. I like it. Thanks for the idea.

Sol, am not reviewing songs on this forum that don't have BiaB content. Just seems disrespectful to our hosts to me. Others will disagree, and I can live with that. Peace, etc...

Clever bittersweet lyrics. Backing band is reminiscent of a cool 70s easy listening sound.

I just found out that the song was posted on this forum. I didn't mean it to be.........I guess I just wasn't thinking. I'm sorry if I offended anyone.
