For those of you who were looking for the release of Tonalics Essentials before giving the product a try, check your Melodyne/Celemony account. The license should have populated to your account today.

Thanks, I just downloaded it. It turns up as Tonalic ARA in Studio Pro 8. Now I just have to figure out how to use it.

Thanks, I just downloaded it. It turns up as Tonalic ARA in Studio Pro 8. Now I just have to figure out how to use it. The video will show you how to use Tonalic ARA in studio one. It also shows how to use it without ARA for most other DAWS as well. How to use Tonalic in ARA2 mode in Presonus Studio One

I have been using the Arranger version in Reaper for a couple days. No ARA2, but the VST works well. I had some really troubles but it was just me trying to go to fast. It highly resembles toontrack EZ products. For me the trickey part was working with tempo maps to synch the Tonalics with my audio tracks in current projects. It you do that wrong -strange things happen which you will swear is a bug. Good news is when you figure that part out, and there is (Tempo/timing video) - all goes very well.

Very nice, there are some very attractive GUI features in there. Maybe something for PG to have a look at.

I find 281 Tonalics patterns in the Essential version that I just have donloaded.
I wonder if anyone knows how many patterns there are in the 1$-1Month version. And also if are they are kept so they may be be used in the Essential version after the subscription have ended.

It's also available in your Fender Studio Pro account. I installed Tonalic Essential and then found an upgrade offer in my Tonalic account. 149 € per year vs. 249 € for Tonalic Studio and 49 € vs. 149 € for Tonalic Arranger. So, I sub'd Studio. There wasn't any small text saying that amount was only for the first year and then it would revert to 249 € per year next year. If it does, I'll cancel. If not, that's about what I spend on BiaB Ultra upgrades each year. That seems more reasonable to me, so I'll keep it. The tight integration with Studio Pro looks really interesting.

In Arranger version, For Guitar alone, there are 4,145 individual tonalic results when you query. 1,131 for Bass and 747 for Drums and 412 for percussion. By the way, I installed both the Essential and Arranger versions. However only one version appears in Reaper, the Arranger. Don't know what to think about that at this time. It does appear that Arranger is huge in comparison.

I have also played around with "Essentials" a bit and I think it is quite limited. There is no track or chord section within Tonalic itself as show in all the tutorials (at least I can't find it). Very limited set of patterns only guitar. I can put in a chord sequence in the DAW as usual and drag the pattern to the track. Only the guitar part will populate the track. That works fine the pattern adapts to the chords. Maybe I haven't found out all features yet, but I think to be of any practical use one probably needs one of the larger versions. Unfortunately they are only on subscription.

I just removed the "Essentials" version. I do not think it will be of any use to me, it is to limited. One probably needs to have the Arranger or Studio versions in order have any real or meanigful use of the software. (but they are subscriptions, so nothing for me).

I believe you are right I gave it a spin today as well and came to the same conclusion. I was using the ARA2 version and it is a nice to work with. I did a short song with that guys electric guitar, added a Bass. Organ. Drum track from my Toontracks. I finished it off with a BIAB Brent Mason Lead Solo track. The subscription is a big turn off for me. I am going to wait to see how this develops.

The subscription is a big turn off for me. I am going to wait to see how this develops. Generally, I dislike subscriptions, as well. That said, once I installed Tonalic Essentials, an upgrade deal showed up in my account: Arranger for 49 €/year vs 149 € or Studio for 149 € vs 249 €. With the various add-on packs, I spend as much or more than 149 € each December upgrading BiaB Ultra to the next version. I did not see any fine print that the 149 € per year would revert to 249 € per year after the 1st year, so I sub'd the Studio version to give Tonalic a proper test. I love its tight integration with Studio Pro v8. If I like the results I get with it AND if the annual sub amount remains at 149 €, I'll likely keep it. If I don't gel with it OR if the annual sub amount reverts to 249 € (which is steep), I'll cancel.

Yes the $49 offer on the arranger is a very good deal but it does revert to the normal price after the year subscription is up. Of course you can cancel it at your will.

Oh, geez. A bunch of years ago, Landr started as an online song mastering app. You upload your mixed track and their app masters it for you. Some of their masters were OK; some were awful. Hit and miss. So now, they're trying something else. Their mastering app must not be generating enough income. Hard pass for me then; hard pass now.

I don't know what Landr started and how and what it was doing earlier... What I do know they were buying smaller unique companies. This particular item might have nothing to do whith their previous gig. I have no clue how good this thing is or not. I was watching one NAMM 26 overview and a guy walked into Landr booth. That's what they showed him. If it was not a sub thing. I would definitely try it.... For fun. Between BIAB, Kontakt, Ujam and a couple of others I have enough guitars and bases to worry about However it was interesting to see what competitors are doing. Their UI ideas. Content wise, it's a toy compared to BIAB, but PGM should seriously consider revamping whole Library (multipicker) expierience. Searching, nested sorting, filtering, categorizing, etc., as I am sure some will pick landr or similar over BIAB, just because it laid out well.

Misha, if you need a few guitars and basses, I can spare some As an aside, though, I could actually do with a few more guitars: what we do not have is a good samba comping guitar at tempos well above 140. Yes, I should request it again ...

202 New RealTracks Released with Band-in-a-Box 2026!
With Band-in-a-Box® 2026, we've released 202 incredible new RealTracks (in sets 468-488) in a variety of genres—featuring your most requested styles!
Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). If you love funk & gospel, there are great new options this year, including gospel organ (3) from Charles Treadway, as well as new funk, tango, and rock ’n’ roll drums (3) and bass (1). And for big, bold arrangements, we have uptempo soul horns (4) featuring a three-part hip horn section with options for a full mix or stems of each individual horn — plus an accompanying rhythm section (4) of drums, bass, guitar, and electric piano!
Rock & Pop (Sets 476–482):
Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.
Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.
Check out all the 202 new RealTracks (in sets 468-488)!
And, if you are looking for more, the 2026 49-PAK (for $49) includes an impressive collection of 20 bonus RealTracks, featuring exciting and inspiring additions to add to your RealTracks library. You'll get new country-rhythm guitar styles from PG Music favorites Johnny Hiland and Brent Mason, along with modern-pop grooves that capture today’s radio-ready sound! There are also new indie-folk styles with guitar, bass, 6-string bass used as a high-chording instrument, acoustic guitar, and banjo. Plus, dedicated "cymbal fills" RealDrums provide an added layer that work very well with low-key folky styles with other percussion.
