How about a feature that would use AI to listen to a reference song and recommend styles that would be similar.

This is the newest good variation on what is becoming a common request, to improve the style picker.

I believe someone here posted that there is a well-known drum synth program that can do this. I forget the name of which one it is.

And to the OP, yes, we users all seem to think it would be an excellent application of AI here.

Definitely one topic that has been requested multiple times, so there is a lot of interest in this concept.

+1/ -1

I can imagine how useful this might be, however... I am not a fan of software that is tethered to online service, especially 3rd party service.
So, +1 would be if: PGM servers would act as intermediary between BIAB <->AI api. In similar way you audition styles through picker "online". Obviously, unchecked box to use "online" content will untether program from calling home or other "places".

-1 If the process is baked in.... As the one PGM made for "AI lyrics". If it was up to me, I would made that whole "block" as optional enable/disable in preferences. It doesn't belong in Library anyway smile

In short, good idea, but depends how it may be done.

Me too, but try to think more broadly: PGM could have the technology in their back-end, and deliver the results to the user. Same as the iOS or Android functionality.

The online service or subscription is never a user requirement.

Yes?

Yes?

Exactly that. With addition that all such tools be fully modular for user to disable. I wish I could disable "AI Lyrics" tab at the picker - but I can't and it will be there for me to look at on every single project I do in BIAB. Hope that makes sense.

Don't get me wrong, I think idea is great and has a lot of interesting possibilities, not only what Rick proposed, but also it could possibly create new styles out of PGM content "based on" user input.

Not exactly what the original post requested---however, if you can find a style close to what's needed, use the drop down menu on the Sty button and use "Choose styles similar to current style". I just discovered that feature and it opened-up lots of possibilities to help with a style search.
