Late Night Adventures

This one from about 6 years ago. Hope you don't mind me linking to the original post rather than creating a new one. Time and family issues have been a challenge. If you commented the first time and choose not to do so again, that's okay. I just want to get something active on the forum.

Most of you know my wife passed away last year. I was doing pretty good, but then our son-in-law passed away one week before Christmas. Our daughter, the only surviving child of our four, is devastated and really struggling. And her husband was from Tennessee and we live in Alabama. I've been back and forth countless times. I've been pretty much exhausted.

When I locate the BIAB tracks, I'll post them. It's a Pop-Jazz song somewhat in the style of George Benson. Hope you enjoy it again. Many thanks if you listen and comment. I'll reply to your comments as quickly as I can.

Thanks in advance,

Alan

Alan,

I'm so sorry to hear about your son-in-law. My thoughts are with you and your family...

Love this instrumental. You have perfectly captured the George Benson / Wes Montgomery feel. The mix on this is spectacular.

EXCELLENT!

Alan, so sorry for your losses. That's a lot to handle. Hope you're taking a little time for your own recovery, as hard as that must seem.

Cool re-post. You definitely captured that Benson thang. Love the musicality of the performance you arranged and that bass player. Crisp mix, too.

Good to see you back! Know we're pulling for you and here if you need any support. Take care, my friend!

Hi Al. You know I've always loved your songs and that you chose styles I appreciated. That's still the case, with a great mix. Just listening to the bass part puts a smile on my face. I'm sorry about your family problems; it's very sad.
Best, Laurent

Hi Alan!
Firstly, I am so sorry for your loss during a season that should be filled with joy. I pray your family is strong, while never forgetting the memories of your good times with those members of your family that have passed. It is understandable and right that your family is first priority. But we are glad whenever you pop in here to post or listen.

As I am less than 1 year on the forum, I didn’t realise the extent of your song contributions until I looked at your ‘threads created’. Man, you’ve been prolific! I’m really a novice when it comes to this genre but I can definitely hear the style of George Benson coming through.

Well done, and good to hear from you!

Hi Alan,

I'm so sorry to hear about your son-in-law. My deepest condolences to you, your daughter and your family. I hope that things are progressing as well as they can given the circumstances and the timing.

It's good to see you on the forum again. "Late Night Adventures" is an excellent listen. As always, good music seems to flow so effortlessly from your songwriting pen. The chord progression travels along smoothly and seamlessly, and it supports and enhances a very engaging and easy-on-the-ears melody. You've definitely captured the Wes Montgomery and George Benson feel for smooth music. You certainly are a master of fine creations.

Thinking of you with lots of healing in mind.
--Noel

P.S. I love your Soundcloud description. It summarises the music journey perfectly!

This is very like George Benson and is pure listening pleasure. So sorry tragedy has affected your life again, Alan. So good you are there for your daughter, though. Hang in there, my friend.

Alan, I'm sorry to hear about your son-in-law. Losing two loved ones in such a short period of time leads to a very difficult time; I know as last year was a very bad one for me. I'll pray for you and your daughter.
You have nailed that Benson vibe.

Wow, you sure do some really enjoyable jazz, Alan. Love it! Yes, I'm familiar with George Benson. It has beautiful virtuosity and pleasant melody. Looks like life really threw you some hard punches and I hope very much you're getting through and healing from it. I know from losing my younger brother decades ago. It was like going through a surreal daze and I had this disconnected feeling. I read that you were in Bakersfield for a time and you're back home down south. I'll be sure to click on some more songs with your name when I see them.

Alan, no apologies needed at all for multiple reasons for the repost! First of all, few people can relate to the tremendous struggles you've endured lately. So sorry to hear about your son-in-law! I pray that you can be strong for your daughter.
Alan, you have always been such an encouragement to everyone in this forum community and it's a much brighter place when you are able to participate with song posts and comments! You are one of the very best here at using BIAB RealTracks and much can be learned from your use of BIAB!
This smooth jazz piece sounds wonderful and definitely worthy of several reposts!
Be strong and take care, TB

Cool tune. Yes indeed, it has a George Benson quality to the guitar. From the tome to the style. Nice.

Excellent instrumental, Al. Not sure if I heard it previously, but it sounded sparkling new!

Good God, Alan. I missed you and thought of you often during the season. Man, I'm so sorry for all you're going through, and especially feel the pain of your daughter.

Yep, George Benson for sure (Wes didn't use a pic). Although I haven't heard this one on its first incarnation, I would never hesitate to mention how much I enjoy your music, Alan. So glad you are here.

Enjoy whatever happens!
