Butterflies

Earlier this month my cousin passed. Years ago she prayed for her son as he left for his ministry education. Right after her prayer a butterfly landed on her; she saw it was God's signal that everything will be OK. It was and now her son is a pastor. This is for you Maralee.

BiaB style - Mortal Pop Soul Groove
Tempo - 40BPM
I deleted the drums and the bass
I copied the guitar track 3 times:
gtr1-Kontakt - Amadeus - Full String Ensemble
gtr2-Kontakt - Solid State Orchestra - Strings
gtr3-Kontakt - String Boutique - Dark & Rich and Mystery Strings
gtr4-EastWest - Opus - Hollywood Fantasy Orchestra - Full Orchestra - Legato Full
Utility - EastWest - Opus - Symphonic Choir - Full Choir
Piano - Lounge Lizard - Tines - Stage Chorus

Via my breath and keyboard controller I am playing the following Swam instruments: the double bass section, solo flute, solo violin, and the solo cello. Band-in-a-Box is supplying the balance of the tracks using my sound sources.

All comments are welcomed.

Hi, Mario.

Quiet and soothing.

Funny how much the cello sounds like a tenor sax! (I have the same problem when I play the SWAM instruments myself).

Super-beautiful dreamy instrumental, Mario. The music has a real Francis Lai vibe to it. The Swam flute is perfect. I've just abandoned a low bpm instrumental as it ended up sounding like a funeral march! laugh I've kept the cord structure with a few edits, but it's now going to bet twice as fast and use very different instruments.!

Hi Mario

A very calming song, well played and composed. I could certainly imagine a garden of butterflies when I closed my eyes. Great song to do that sort of mindscaping to.

Excellent, kind regards.

Hi Mario!
The choir and the orchestra certainly sounded like the heavenly realms were playing. I pray the peace reflected in your music is the peace that you and your family experience.

Chills. I pushed Play before reading --cuz I can never wait to hear what you've made, Mario. Then I read. And chills got stronger as did my respect for all you do. What an outstanding feel you've encorporated in this one. An incredible write and you perform it all brilliantly. The mix is perfect.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Thanx David. I never noticed how close to a tenor sax the cello sounded until now. I'm going to have to see if some settings can change that. Thanx for pointing that out.

Thanx so much Chay, especially for that Francis Lai comment. It wasn't until I googled him that I remembered he
penned "A Man and A Women" and "The Theme to Love Story". I have played both of those songs a few times.

I'm sure that if you put your mind to it you could record really slow songs. You are one great composer and producer.

Thanx so much Andrew. I especially like the blending of various string, orchestra, and choir programs. I thought they came out extremely well. Thanx for noticing.

Mario, so sorry for your loss. Seems we're saying that way too much lately. This is a lovely tribute indeed.

You have superb compositional skills, and create the most beautiful symphonic arrangements with a lively, emotional feel. Your playing perpetuates the delicious illusion of an orchestra, too.

SUCH a nice tune!

So refreshing for a change to just stop to listen harmonic, beautiful melody brilliantly produced with natural sounding instrumentation. My favourite one from you!

Hi Mario,

That's a very sad, yet beautiful story about your cousin. That butterfly...
And your melody is a wonderful contribution to her. You did it beautifully and intensely.
I bet she's enjoying it somewhere up there and will smile at this gift from you.

A good choice of instruments. I had some reservations about the flute, but it turned out really well!

Stunning composition. These pieces you have been writing that have been borne from sadness are phenomenal.

Quite lovely, Mario. I know you've said in the past that it can take several takes to get something like this, but it's certainly worth it. Love your Swam musicianship!
