I haven't used any of RealBand's PG effects for quite a while, but when I tried to do so recently, the effects are there (PG Dynamics, Peak Limit, reverb etc) but there are no presets available. How can I reload the presets or are they not available in RB2025? Thanks in advance, Mike
OPs image shows Echo/Chorus I show presets for that also.
Does your Realband - DX Settings folder contain a Factory_TSG folder? Do you have items in there? I *assume* that is where they reside, but could be wrong...

I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome Make your sound your own!
On my computer, I have 25 files in the Factory_TGG folder (101.tgs, 102.tgs, 201.tgs, 202.tgs, etc.) Interesting that they are .TGS files, but the folder name is TGG.

same number here, but they appear compiled so who knows how many actual usable TGS FX each contains I do know that when you save something as a preset it saves as a TGS file, so I assume the ones in the Factory folder are the base ones ...

Hi Rharv and John, My Realband - DX Settings folder does not contain a Factory_TGS folder but does contain a Factory_TGG folder containing 25 tgs files - from 101TGS to 1201TGS. See attached. Mike
The 64-bit PG Plugins are stored in "c:\Program Files\Powertracks DirectX Plugins". There is also a "Save-Restore Presets" folder that contains a txt file about restoring presets at this location. I have never come across this before so I'm presently working my way through it to try and understand what it is about.
UPDATE: I've had a look through the txt file for Save-Restore but I am not confident that I fully understand it and the implications of running the EXE files. According to the documentation, the preset information is stored in the registry. This sounds like it's part of the group of files that PG Music installs during the minimum install to the hard drive when the 'writing to registry' process occurs. If this is the case, running the BIAB/RB installation file and choosing the minimum install will probably restore the presets.
Rharv has much more expertise than I do in this area. He might have some thoughts.
Thanks for your investigation Noel. I, too, have not got confidence to start running EXE files etc that may affect the program. I'll wait and see if Rharv, PG staff or anyone else has any suggestions. Cheers, Mike

Yeah, I am hesitant about that myself. Have you tried a quick re-install?

// according to a post above, the readme says we can share our compiled binary file that contains all of those TGS files, and I would do that, but it may overwrite some presets I have changed and/or add some I have. So I don't recommend that route unless you and a friend have been sharing it for reasons, which I can definitely see the benefit of doing. Sending my TGS files to to another location could be very handy when working on a mix, as long as both systems have the same FX available, etc. But not in this situation

Wow, that's a weird one. I know it has been raised as a flag for the team here, we'll have to wait and see how it flies.
Or because we're all friends here, I'll mention there is a readme in the Program Files\PowerTracks DirectX Plugins\Save-Restore Presets\ folder as Neil mentioned, an explanation of how to easily restore your Presets (from 2002)
I ran thru all the steps and it did create the file, it did restore it and I still have all my presets in RB 2026.. So I already did step one (thru 4) in the readme, and you already did step 2 (you have RB installed) Step 3 is copying a file to your computer, which begs the question Do you already have these files mentioned in the doc, in the specified location? Neil posted a pic, you should have 4 files in that folder, one being a README file
You may be able to restore them yourself, or I could post my copy of the BIN file so you could use that, if not ..
Not recommending, but I went ahead and tried it after learning a little more about it and who wrote it. /Due to my computer set up I had to run as Administrator (it does, after all say that it writes to the registry) //You may or may not need that step depending on your settings //yeah, I tried it, it didn't blow my machine up ... but I wasn't missing them before either ... and come to think of it, if the installer wasn't run as admin it may not have wrote to registry either

Hi, A few questions, if you don't mind: Is there a difference between downloading/installing the latest updates for RB2025 and BIAB2025 and doing "a quick re-install"? When you say a "quick reinstall", is that the same as a "minimal install" from PG Music's website? Does the minimal install take much time and disc space? Mike Sorry about all the questions. I'm just a bit nervous about "breaking" Realband
The minimum install usually works for me when I need to use this approach. This is the installation that uses the least amount of diskspace. It only loads the barest minimum number of files onto the computer that Windows needs to get the program running. The process includes writing to the registry, adding drivers and adding any needed folders to the c:\program files folder.
After running the minimum install, there would only be a minimum change in your used diskspace because the installation will overwrite existing files.
Also, after running the minimum install, you would probably need to reload the most recent update for your version of BIAB/RB.

202 New RealTracks Released with Band-in-a-Box 2026!
With Band-in-a-Box® 2026, we've released 202 incredible new RealTracks (in sets 468-488) in a variety of genres—featuring your most requested styles!
Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). If you love funk & gospel, there are great new options this year, including gospel organ (3) from Charles Treadway, as well as new funk, tango, and rock ’n’ roll drums (3) and bass (1). And for big, bold arrangements, we have uptempo soul horns (4) featuring a three-part hip horn section with options for a full mix or stems of each individual horn — plus an accompanying rhythm section (4) of drums, bass, guitar, and electric piano!
Rock & Pop (Sets 476–482):
Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.
Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.
And, if you are looking for more, the 2026 49-PAK (for $49) includes an impressive collection of 20 bonus RealTracks, featuring exciting and inspiring additions to add to your RealTracks library. You'll get new country-rhythm guitar styles from PG Music favorites Johnny Hiland and Brent Mason, along with modern-pop grooves that capture today’s radio-ready sound! There are also new indie-folk styles with guitar, bass, 6-string bass used as a high-chording instrument, acoustic guitar, and banjo. Plus, dedicated "cymbal fills" RealDrums provide an added layer that work very well with low-key folky styles with other percussion.
