I posted several "instrumentals" last year after spending a night learning to play.
They were all recorded within a couple of weeks of that night.
Mostly jammy-noodley things.
Experimenting. Stretching my legs.
So I thought I'd do a new one.
A bit less noodley, a bit more song structure.

Just walked through some BIAB styles to find a BAND to play with.

Style is _ROKAMER.STY (Pop American Guitar)

RealTracks in style: ~388:Bass, Electric, Metal Ev 120
RealTracks in style: 629:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm PopAmericanDirty Ev 120
RealTracks in style: 632:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm PopAmericanMuted Ev 120
RealTracks in style: ~405:Guitar, Acoustic, Strumming Ev 120
RealDrums in style:NashvilleEven8^6-a:Snare, HiHat , b:Snare, HiHat Open

(an old one!)

Entered some chords - verse and chorus sort of thing, and generated tracks.
Just let everyone play all the way through.
Loaded them into Studio One.
And hit record.
Full speed ahead until I saw the sign for.......

EXIT 19

(AIO SC77 played through S-Gear)

Do your thing.

Floyd,

What a cool blues rocker...

Your playing is so fluid and nuanced. You have a great touch and tone. Expertly mixed as well.

Great band and a GREAT lead guitarist. smile

Thoroughly enjoyed!

Tasty one, Floyd. Love the melodic way you're working through the changes, and that TONE is really nice, too. JUST ENOUGH grit to make the stops thicken up while leaving the single note runs with a cool hairiness (doubt if this is the correct technical term, but you'll probably get what I mean). Love your bends as well. This must have been a lot of fun to play. Fun romp for the listener, too!

Yeah really nice groove you’ve got going there Floyd. Who needs lyrics and vocals when you can play and rock a guitar like that. No Noodling Detected!!

Great job, kind regards.

Love your phrasing and note choices, two things I always listen for in a guitarist. Great tone too!
And melodic, I'll take melodic playing over noodling any day, although sometimes noodling can be fun wink

Needed to google AIO SC77, never heard of that brand before. Nice looking guitar!

Good stuff, floyd, keep them coming.

Right away I liked your use of space. I find extended solos hard to do, you did well here. Enjoyed it!

A great instrumental for a single guitar solo.

Man, what a night that musta been when you taught yourself guitar. And man listen to you now. Hey, I always like the noodling too. Yes, I hear the song structure, and can even hear your lyrics over the melody. Hard-hitting sounds and I had to hit it a couple times --so far. Thanks much for letting us download them, Floyd. Everything is perfection. Some excellent technique going on in there. I'm guessing you bought that guitar off Exit 19. You've made it much more valuable.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Excellent, Floyd.
An instrumental solo with a melody is almost impossible to get with a BIAB track.
Great stuff.

Good playing, beautiful tone, beautiful axe (like Dave, I had to google AIO).
But what I really LOVE are your wonderful bends, David Gilmour says 'hi'.
They sound so natural and easy.

Hi Floyd!
I love the chord and phrasing at various times e.g. at 1:35 - but good playing and melody throughout. I’m in admiration that you taught yourself in one night, but obviously developing since then. I don’t know your instrument background - pianist? guitarist? It would be good to hear more of your journey. In any case, this piece shows one doesn’t have to ‘shred’ to come up with the goods. Tuneful, cleanly played, and full of all the techniques of good lead guitar.

Floyd, super groove
Great backing band
Very impressive chops
Great tone on that axe.
I had to look that axe up as I have never heard of that brand. It sounds like they may be giving Gibson a run for the money.
Isn't it fun jamming with BiaB!

I thought, "Give me a Floyd Jane track." I'll be able to listen to his amazing voice. It's good, really: great style and fantastic guitar work.

Hi floyd.

This is excellent listening. I remember a time when an instrumental track would sit in the Top 40 every few months. Some of the most memorable songs for me have been instrumentals – Telstar, In the Mood, Stranger on the Shore, Peter Gunn, Baby Elephant Walk, Music Box Dancer, Popcorn, etc. Unfortunately, instrumental tracks are something rarely heard in mainstream music, these days. It's refreshing to be reminded that a good instrumental is still worth its weight in gold. I thoroughly enjoyed my listen. Thank you for reminding me that good music is not always sung.

Sounds great, Floyd. It sounds like you've been playing lead longer than you mentioned in earlier posts. The sound you get from that guitar is simultaneously smooth and screaming.

Way cool, Floyd. You play very well.

Hi Floyd,

I had the same thoughts as Laurent; after the first guitar notes, your voice would come through. And I had a hunch how...
I was a bit surprised that there were no lyrics on your site or here on the forum. And yet, still no voice to be heard!

Just a great rock song with a beautiful lead guitar. And then I suddenly realized I was listening to an instrumental by Mr. Floyd! (Google translate made Mr. Floyd Pink Floyd, but I think your instrumental sounds much better).
So, that was a surprise! Although... I vaguely remember a song of yours from years ago.
That was also instrumental and a bit busier, as far as I can remember.

Hans
