Lyrics:

What should we do
with our hearts' endeavor
We sought to be forever
But now it's hard to know

What will ensue
We've followed all the traces
Of love's familiar phases
And now it's come to this

This trying agony of looks askew
Wondering what the other one might do
Caught up in a web beyond our ken
Waiting for the gods to just say when

And if nothing comes to mind
Whatever else, let's be kind
Take our lumps and take it slow
Goodbye is hard, and don't we know

What should we do
With the rest of our weary lives
You only get so many tries
Then the whole thing's through

The word alone,
Sinks in the sea of the heart
like a mighty stone
Can we see beyond the end
Can we somehow still be friends
If this love we hew
What should we do
What should we do
What should we do

Another excellent song with great rhythm and groove. Love the arrangement and your Suno singer sounds nice - very natural.

Great stuff!

Very smooth, Rob. Nicely written, with a sweet take on a Great American Songbook-style backing, melody and lyric. That harp solo is very sweet, too. Always great to hear you play. Nice band arrangement as well. Especially liked the vibes peeking out in the spaces. Nice vocalist, but I like the last dude you had singing for you better. smile

Hi Rob!
Aaahhh … there’s just not enough bossa and vibes going around today - or should I say I don’t seek it out enough. I had to put down my Martini glass to write some notes.
Great singer, good lyrics and melody. I couldn’t quite make out the chord movements (something I normally pay quite a bit of attention to) but I thought I detected some good moves.
The whole song just sounds so classy!

Hey Bob,

I enjoy these old style jazz songs you come up with, something different than what everyone else is producing here.

Good groove, good sounding band. Love the harp solo!

Hi Bob.

This is an excellent groove and an equally excellent listen. I love bossanovas. I also compliment you on the use of Suno. It's a very convincing performance that you've created. And your harmonica playing sits perfectly in the arrangement and mix. This is a first-class production.

Beautiful, smooth Bossa nova, well written and arranged, and despite your complaints that your Suno vocals aren't perfect, I actually think they're pretty good and perfectly support to the song.

Ah, man, this is the best. You always post the best stuff, Bob. I realized when I saw your profile pic and thought, "Oh cool, another new one to hear." Love that Bossa, and your whole production. Excellent choice of singers, too. Oooo, that sweet harp with the perfect melody to accompany this gem. Keep 'em comin'g, Bob.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Thanks for the kind assessment, Ron! I might sing next time, on another classic song that just went public domain.

Thanks, Andrew! I can send you the sgu if you want, unless there's a faster way to share chords that I'm not aware of.
