Mindless Thoughts

Lean back, close your eyes, and let the music take you where ever you want to go. Float in space, float on an inner tube in a lazy river, or just picture yourself laying under a tree looking at the sky. Just do mindless thoughts. This is a slow ambient piece of music.

BiaB Style - Planet Ambient Space Ballad
Tempo - 40 BPM
I deleted the drums
Bass - Swam Bass Section
Piano - Kontakt - Samplism Multi - 16 Cosmic Dreams MW
Guitar - Kontakt - Arcturus 15
Strings - Synthronic2 - Aurora Borealis
Utility - EastWest - Symphonic Choir - Full Choir

I am playing my Xaviere 335 with humbucker pickups with reverb and delay and via my keyboard controller the chimes. Note that this music may not be for everyone.

SO nicely done, Mario! When I listen to this style of music from you, if someone told me I was actually listening to an Oscar winning movie score or a lost work by Ravel, I'd believe them. REALLY nice playing, but your composition/arrangement skills are off the charts. Like this a lot, Mario.

Hey, Mario. I love ambient electronica. This harkens back to when Brian Eno did such lovely pieces as "Thursday Afternoon" and "Neroli." Yours is very soothing and etherial much like gazing out the window at the trees and sky in a yellow haze of the afternoon sun. It's a lovely piece right up there among the best ambient I've heard.

Hi Mario, that was certainly meditative for me. I never used to like this type of music, New Age I think they call it. I used to call it plinkle-plinkle music because it lacked any sort of form. But getting older and slowing down, I’ve found there is a value to it to slow down and unwind an overactive mind. You’ve got a lot of elements going throughout and it works very well together. I do prefer as is the old adage, less is more, and for a mindless reflective piece even less in the mix. But this still works great as a reflective, meditative song.

Great job, kind regards

Hi Mario!
A very different piece, but I like it.

I leaned back, closed my eyes, and saw the cosmic dust from a far away galaxy get drawn into our solar system and seed the Earth with the material to form the basis of life.

It was either that, or I was lost in a maze of mirrored hallways, and my gate was in slow motion and my sight was blurred and distorted due to the effects of the hallucinogens.

See, this is why I should never lean back and close my eyes. Oh, and because of the dentist.

Very trippy.

John, Thanx so much. I have Brian Eno albums as well as other ambient composer/musicians albums from that era. I like that genre also. I'm glad you liked it.

Thanx Lee I appreciate your kind words. Yes less is more and I tried that but felt it lacked substance. I know all about growing older and slowing down. Getting old is not for sissies!

Thanx so much Floyd. I'm not sure about that King of Ambient statement but I have been listening to ambient and new age music since it first came out.

Hi Mario.

This is such a beautiful composition and arrangement. As others above me have already said, you are the king of ambient soundscapes.
What an amazing journey in musical textures of the contemplative kind.

Wonderful music.

Mindless Thoughts makes me think whithout thoughts, I think. Therefore I am --happy to be listening to another Mario Masterpiece. You are truly amazing, my friend. Every piece you create is different from every other you make, but they all have that one thing in common: extraordinary, out-of-this-world-or-any-world-for-that-matter goodness. The feeling listening to this is quite indescribable, yet it cries out for description.

Enjoy whatever happens!
