Bar-based Section Letters are great and for me are one of the important benefits of both BIAB and RealBand.
However, they are not compatible. When I create a song in BIAB with the BBSL's showing my Verse 1, 2, 3's and my first letter hints for instruments in a certain section and save that song in BIAB SGU format, the BBSL's are gone when I load the file in RB for further recording and development. So then I have to go back through and re-tag my BBSL's before I do anything else.

If at all possible, PLEASE make the BBSL's compatible with the two programs that I enjoy using - BIAB and RB. Those BBSL's really help when recording multiple instrument tracks while watching the CHORDS screen.

Thanks much.

And while we're at it, add the other A/B/C/D markers as editable data natively, in my experience RB only supports A/B

I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

Maybe I've been missing something all this time. Are you meaning the green and blue markers? Those only have "a" or "b", and my BBSL in RB have A-Z and 1-9.... I've been away from RB for a few years and I'm just now getting somewhat re-educated to add to my minimal education on it.

If for some reason the BBSL's can't cross over, maybe other color choices, font colors, box outlines or something could be coded in that would cross over? I don't know.

For my uses on building a multitrack recording, I assign a letter like G for guitar, B for banjo, D for dobro, etc. so while recording in the chords screen I don't have to guess what instrument has what part coming up. Colors might do if letters can't. Probably laziness on my part but it sure helps to know when to throw in a transition lick or something when I know that I'm going to be handing the lead off to another instrument that I'm going to be recording on the next track...

I like your idea, makes sense and I can see its purpose.

I would also like more of the basic part markers, such as something obvious to signal a break section for example

A song may have a section that's verse/chorus/verse/chorus and then an instrumental unison section for 4 bars that then breaks down to a very simple drum/bass only section, then back to a verse etc...
