In a nutshell: - I imported chords and an audio file into BIAB
- One chord was missing (not BIAB's fault), so I inserted a bar to add the chord manually
- The bar was also inserted into the audio track
- Same problem when deleting a bar
This default behavior may be useful in most cases, but it is very annoying if you only want to insert missing bars that are already present in the audio file. Is there a way to freeze the audio track so that it remains unchanged? A reference to the forum or the manual (I searched both but couldn't find anything) would be very welcome.

I haven't tried this so I am not sure it would work. - Export the Audio track to a file on disk
- Delete the Audio track in BIAB
- Add the missing bar
- Import the saved Audio track

Thank you for taking the time to respond, AudioTrack (what a fitting name ) That's what I'm doing at the moment, but every time I find another missing bar, I have to import the audio file again, select the target track, align it, and adjust the track settings, which is a bit tedious compared to a freeze button or a setting that prevents any changes to the imported audio. My hope is to find something like that.

Hi BD, I reported this behaviour to the Development Team not so long ago. The thread is below. Andrew from PG Music made a comment about half way down the thread. https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=877045#Post877045Regards, --Noel

< I imported chords and an audio file into BIAB One chord was missing (not BIAB's fault), so I inserted a bar to add the chord manually >
Good morning. Can you describe the steps you take to import the audio and chords? Currently, when a user inserts a measure on the Chord Sheet, the audio is also split and a measure of silence is inserted. As Andrew noted, this was added as requested because not splitting was considered a bug. Regardless, neither method, automatic split or manual split seem to be the issue. It appears the audio and Chord Chart aren't in sync. A Freeze option isn't going to help. BIAB cannot generate or regenerate Audio. It only affects BIAB generatable content. I'm not understanding why there's always a missing chord that's not BIAB's fault.

Charlie He said he imported chords & audio (separately?) I assume the two didn't match originally and he is trying to fix that. Yet another scenario where RB is better for that ...

Charlie Hi Charlie, I want to import some of my old recordings into BIAB and have SongMaster Pro create .musicxml files from the audio files to import into BIAB. The original audio file is also imported, of course. SongMaster is really good at this, but sometimes it misses a chord when either the tempo or the time signature changes, so there's one bar missing in the .musicxml file. Therefore, my attempt was to simply insert a new bar into BIAB and add the chord there. Without changing the audio file.

I have never used RB before, but if it can do that easily, I will certainly use it. Goal: 1: Import chords via .musicxml 2: Import audio 3: Listen 4: Add chord 5: Goto 3 until all missing chords are added 6: Save the result for use in BIAB

Thanks for your quick reply. To continue using your preferred workflow, I agree with Rharv, RealBand is the better solution. I personally don't use musicxml but I do a similar operation of your 1 and 2 with midi files.
Using your workflow in BIAB, you will need to add a step 2.5 to sync the Chord Sheet and audio. You use the Audio Chord Wizard to sync the two. In the situation, you're experiencing, a freeze button would not help at all. Rharv's suggestion will probably resolve your issue.

How I would do it in RB - Import your audio and Chords Select a blank track (important!)
Go to Chords view and select the bar before you want to insert a new one Right-Click Copy it (just that bar using the From-Thru settings in the popup) and make sure the Chord Symbol & Events check boxes are checked Right-Click Paste that, making sure 'Create Gap on Selected track' is chosen and use the From section in that same popup to define the next measure as where to paste it.
Click OK Now you have a new chord sheet with an new measure that you can alter as you like & no audio was disturbed
Do the same thing for any other measures needed. After that you can generate or whatever as needed.
