OP Thunderthud Journeyman T Joined: Jul 2019 Posts: 310	I keep hitting the record button instead of stop on the new 2026 interface. Then to two boxes come up and I have to close them down each time. I wish the record button was separated from the stop button and maybe it should be RED? It's probably just me. Hmm.

Andy Ling Apprentice A Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 120	I have the space bar set so it starts and stops playback, so I just have to blindly hit that big bar at the bottom of the keyboard. No messing trying to find the mouse or a button on the GUI. The Escape button also stops playback. You might find these less prone to error.

OP Thunderthud Journeyman T Joined: Jul 2019 Posts: 310	Thanks, I am/was aware of the space bar pause, etc. Unfortunately, under some conditions, when some windows are open on the screen and a track is playing, Space bar doesn't work and I panic to mouse over to the stop button, hitting Record instead. Maybe just make it RED as a warning,

It became possible maybe ten or fifteen years ago to modify the files for transport icons. While helpful, it was tedious to keep up the modifications each year. The instructions and some samples are probably still on the forum. BIAB 2026 Win Audiophile. Software: Fender Studio One 8, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6, Song Master Pro, Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Fender Quantom HD8 & Faderport 8, Royer 121, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors.

Joseph Land Expert Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 1,063 Springfield, MO	The Record Button is red in every DAW I have used in the past. I currently use Adobe Audition and Reaper and occasionally SoundForge. Red in all three of those. Red has usually been the industry standard. Looks red in Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Calkwalk, Garageband, Avid Pro Tools, BIAB2026 Windows 10 Pro (Never Windows 11!) WA6NCB

The icons I modified were quite low resolution and I kept hoping someone, or PG Music, would have a better graphics program than I did. I did not know the GUI revision would make such modification no longer possible. Maybe it’s just a question of new instructions with a link to the files? I’m mentioning this to the developers.
