When Organs Join Together (SoundCloud)
When Organs Join Together (YouTube)

While looking for inspiration for new compositions, here is something quite old. Originally written more than 10 years ago, a musical song for a movie that was never done. First there was the title which I really liked and then I built a song around it, ambigious, yes, but don't let it scare you smile The human body is an amazing machinery with its different organs doing their wonderfully detailed job, even one simple cell is a small factory in itself... and they all work together like a symphonic orchestra. In 2012 version I used a Vocaloid, but now that synth voices are really good, I wanted to finish this song with them.

AI - I didn't check my lyrics with AI tools, but maybe I should have, because even after 10 years I found more issues to fix, wrong stressings and pronunciations, noticed when everything was almost finished - and I'm sure you'll find a bunch more of them (while I was writing this text, I found out that Synth V pronounces 'timbres' like 'timbers', I guess that is incorrect...). AI was used in the music, but only in the heartbeat sound that was created by AI... and then the video is quite AI-ish. AI wasn't very willing to create hybrids of human organs and instruments, some pictures were even censored... but I think the video is good enough to get into the mood of my absurd ideas wink

BIAB - offering solid instruments once again, I almost kept the original arrangement, but then decided to try some new tools like Tonalic Essential and because the original mix was done in Adobe Audition and it is really slow to use I moved to Cakewalk Sonar. What is really missing in the arrangement is a real symphonic orchestra, sorry, I don't have skills, time or money for such a beast and BIAB is lacking in this area, so I have only a basic chord track played via The Orchestra...

Synth V vocals - nice chance to utilize musical voices like Asterian and Lang Chuan, and I think they sound great. And the first try to use new chord collection voices, they sound great, too. And I used also Weina, Natalie, Nyl, Felicia, Jun, NOA Hex.

RealDrums: used but didn't find more information
RealTracks:
Fretless Bass #2937, wish there were more fretless RTs, because this one doesn't sound soft enough
Sax solo #588, what a great sound, a perfect match for love ode
Electric guitar jazz funk #1638
Electric guitar jazz pop #1236
Electric guitar alt #832
Electric guitar solo #1167
Acoustic piano Rhythm New Age #3669

MIDI:
muted guitar (VST?)
chord track (The Orchestra Complete)

Other:
Tonalic Essential - I had used very nice sounding acoustic guitar RT, but decided to try this new tool by Celemony and I think it sounds pretty cool and it is easy to use.

Mixed in Cakewalk Sonar (Ozone 12, Aurora, Neutron 5)

Lyrics:

Feel this cosmic symphony
interpreting the universe in us
sparkling dance of the quarks.
Mind is the conductor
the heart's a human drum
synapses vibrating
when fingers make a strum.
Vessels carrying the source code
hormones telling the right mode
muscles singing the love ode.

Hear this lush ensemble of strings
synchronizing the elements of works
DNA is the score.
Through the evolution
each organ with a skill
timbres, tonal ranges
own purpose to fulfill.
Instruments of a being
in unison they are breathing
undying time they are beating.

When the organs join together
they form an entity
each violin playing its part
in the orchestra of love
in perfect harmony.

See this flawless structure of things
executing procedures of your life
pursuing enduring laws.
Voices of creation
affection from the lips
sensations down the spine cord
to the movements of the hips.
Germ cells swimming a slick route
the final straight for a new sprout
mitosis ready to spread out.

When the organs join together
they form an entity
each violin playing its part
in the orchestra of love
in perfect harmony.

When the organs join together
they form an entity
each violin playing its part
in the orchestra of love
in perfect harmony.

When the organs join together
they merge into one body
something bigger than the sum of its parts
in the masterwork called you and me.

When I saw the title my immediate thought was it's got to be about church organs, pipe organs .......I thought there's no way it could mean what it sounds like it could mean....... Oh my, the lyrics revealed the dark reality.... Yes, it's about THAT!

Classical vocals and all.

That was "interesting", to say the least

Janne, this is another magnum opus from you, to be sure. Great lyrics, but challenging to sing. It's amazing how well the prosody worked, though there were some difficult phrases. I couldn't quite figure out what you were doing as regards the lead vocal. It sounds fuzzy to me, I wish you'd have let Asterian just sing simply to let the lyrics shine through. If that's his natural timbre, I'd wish for a different singer from your stable. Liked the chorus. Glad that you kept this secular - there are many who would not have, unfortunately. (In 'Murka, anyway.) Great job, your creativity knows no bounds!

Janne, an interesting piece of music for sure.
I agree in that it sounds like it would fit into a musical.
I had problems understanding the vocal in a lot of spots
I believe this has a lot of potential.

Definitely unusual and absurd, yet those are the things that work in its favor. It has unexpected things and transitions...the deep theatrical vocal, the saxophone, the science based biological lyrics coming across like an overture or a novelty song. Weird, but not easily forgettable.

Wow, VERY creative! And here's me expecting a B3 duet! laugh It's a great, original song with a superb sax solo, and I really enjoyed the listening experience. Very well done.

Very cool song and video!

I enjoyed the unexpected chord change(s) in the chorus, the classical-sounding lead voice, and the images of human organs playing instruments in the orchestra.

You have a great imagination, and it was very well-executed!

WILD stuff, Janne! Grand, beautiful and strange, but strangely effective, too. Love the concept and the inventive chord movement that powers it all. Those choir vocals sound GREAT, and support the lead vocalist(s?) quite well. That first unexpected solo even works well. Love the heartbeat, too. Super arrangement, mix and master. Just "master"ful all the way around.

DNA is the score!

Indeed it is!

I was with Herb thinking this was going to be about Farfisas and such. What a treat to be wrong. Man, I was enthralled with the YT version when I got the notification. What an extra treat to get some insight from the composer here on the forum. What an outstanding production, Janne. Far better idea for a song, too. Thanks also for the fine explaination of your process. I never even looked into those Celemony parts, but this is exceptional.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Thanks Herb for your fun comment smile But I don't think the song is ALL about THAT, but now that I look at the lyrics I can understand that those first verses can be interpreted that way, maybe I should have been more careful wink And maybe I should have started with an organ solo... to surprise my listeners...

Thanks TM for your positive and heartwarming feedback smile Hmmm maybe I have worked on this song so many years that the prosody has found its natural flow.

You are right about the lead vocals, I had and idea about "The Three Tenors" sound, but because I was lazy, I used two singers and doubled them both and that's what likely makes it fuzzy, maybe I'll redo the lead parts later, thanks for reporting.

Hi Janne!
Let’s say this is interesting! Normally, my mind will try and visualise a song as it is being sung, but in this case, it was ‘Look away now!’ or ‘Get a room!’. Not sure if it was just my mind, but something voyeuristic about this - not from you, but from me. The male choir gave me a sense of people looking on and commentating. I agree with the comment about being in a musical - could the musical be named ‘The human body’? The chord and melody movement is adventurous, but I find this usually means second and third listens are rewarding.
I enjoyed it!

It is an enjoyable listen. It's the unusual lyrics, unexpected low vocal delivery, and initial absurdity that works so well in its favor. It's not a forgettable tune which is a good thing. I wouldn't change anything about it. I wouldn't try to dilute the lyrics. Lyrically there is nothing malicious or selfish about it. There are enough pop tunes out there that follow a formula like "We Have Tonight," "Let Me Love You Tonight," as if all the problems the lonely person has will be completely solved by the narrator if they just climb under the sheets. I find myself getting very tired of those. Back to "Organs," it's the very different take, a different angle on the subject, much different than anything I've heard before. Janne has a very good sense of melody.

Hi Janne,

An impressive song, with great lyrics and a fantastic music video. I enjoyed it immensely! I wish my organs played that well together, although I'm not complaining, of course...

Honestly, I had to get used to the operatic style of the singing, but the visuals made up for a lot.
You were really creative with this. It's so funny how you portray the organs here.
Where did you come up with that? But this actually applies to everything in your song!
I can only compliment you on your performance of your song, Janne!

By the way, I agree with you that BiaB could offer more string orchestras, or ensembles of them. I miss that too.

Thanks Mario for your very kind comment smile Yeah, I have always problems understanding operatic and bombastic vocals, I feel the unclear voice is somehow intentional and belongs to this type of music, so I guess I'm on the right track wink

Hey Janne,

First off – wow. You’ve taken the phrase “body of work” to a whole new, anatomically‑correct level. Watching lungs tap‑dance on a trumpet and a brain wielding a violin is the kind of visual pun that makes me wonder whether I’ve been looking at my own anatomy wrong this whole time. 😬

The Concept
The idea of treating our organs as a symphonic orchestra is clever, a little mad, and exactly the kind of brain‑candy that keeps a songwriting forum interesting. You’ve managed to turn something we usually only think about in medical textbooks into a lyrical celebration of how “the heart’s a human drum” and “DNA is the score.” That’s the sort of scientific‑sweet‑spot that makes listeners both think and feel—and it certainly makes me want to hum “the heart’s a drum” while waiting for my coffee to brew. ☕ 🙄

Lyrics & Wordplay ✏
Your lyrics are packed with vivid, almost‑palpable imagery:

“Feel this cosmic symphony / interpreting the universe in us” – a gentle reminder that the cosmos literally lives inside us.
“Vessels carrying the source code” – I’m half‑expecting a programmer’s Easter egg hidden somewhere in the mix.
The recurring chorus (“When the organs join together…”) works like a good refrain, reinforcing the central theme without ever feeling redundant.

If there’s a tiny grammar‑gremlin lurking (the occasional misplaced stress or a “timbres/timbers” hiccup), it only adds to the charm of a piece that’s been lovingly tweaked after a decade‑long incubation. Think of it as the musical equivalent of a scar—evidence of a journey, not a flaw.

Production & Arrangement

You’ve clearly put a lot of thought into the sonic palette: (͡• ͜ʖ ͡•)

Synth V vocals (Asterian, Lang Chuan, etc.) give the track that modern, glossy sheen while still feeling human‑sounding enough to keep the “music‑hall ??” vibe from tipping over into robot‑opera.
RealTracks: the sax solo #588 is a perfect, buttery contrast to the more “cellular” textures; the fretless bass (even if it’s a tad aggressive) adds that low‑end “blood‑pump” feel.
Tonalic Essential shines through on the acoustic guitar—nice, warm, and just the right amount of organic to complement the synthetic elements.

I love that you moved the mix to Cakewalk Sonar and gave Ozone 12, Aurora, and Neutron 5 some love. The overall balance feels cohesive, despite the myriad sources (VSTs, RTs, AI‑generated heartbeat). The subtle heartbeat tucked in the background is a brilliant, almost subconscious reminder that the whole thing is alive. 🌟

The Video 🎬
The Rocky Horror Picture Show meets Fantastic Voyage (meant as a compliment).
Visually, the video is a kaleidoscopic tour de force, a technicolor dreamscape where organs become virtuoso performers. The vibrant FX and life‑like rendering are impressive, especially given the AI‑censorship hurdles you mentioned. Even when the AI tried to police a “lung‑violin” combo, you pushed through and delivered a scene that’s both surreal and oddly comforting—like a modern‑day “Alice in Wonderland” set inside a human body.

Final Thoughts

“When Organs Join Together” is a bold, inventive mash‑up of biology, AI, and classic music‑hall charm. You’ve taken a concept most would deem “too weird” and turned it into a compelling, technically solid audiovisual piece that stands out in a sea of formulaic songs. The humour, the heart, and the sheer audacity of letting a lung play a violin make this track a memorable listening (and watching) experience.

It’s quirky, it’s ambitious, and—most importantly—it’s unmistakably you. 💯 ༼♥ل͜♥༽

Keep pushing those boundaries, Janne—your next “organ‑orchestra” could easily become the anthem for anyone who ever felt their brain was doing a drum solo.

Bravo Janne, and may your future projects be as lively as a gerkin? on a saxophone! 🎷 👏 👏 👏

— Izzy

BTW Do you need some crowd funding for your orchestra ? 🤩 hee hee

Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). If you love funk & gospel, there are great new options this year, including gospel organ (3) from Charles Treadway, as well as new funk, tango, and rock ’n’ roll drums (3) and bass (1). And for big, bold arrangements, we have uptempo soul horns (4) featuring a three-part hip horn section with options for a full mix or stems of each individual horn — plus an accompanying rhythm section (4) of drums, bass, guitar, and electric piano!

Rock & Pop (Sets 476–482):
Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.

Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.
