Hi All, Here's our latest on SoundCloud. This is somewhat of an indie-style rock tune called JOURNEY. Hi Bob! This is so cool - and different to what I’m used to from you. This song makes fantastic use of Joliz, and her singing tone suits the genre I think. Your voice has some Neil Young qualities to it. I loved listening to that grungy sound of the band you arranged.
Well done on the video as well - you’re producing some good visuals to support your music.
Enjoyed it a lot!
Andrew

Hi Bob and Joliz,
What did you eat yesterday??? What a unique song you've made! Is this really an Indian rock style? It leans more towards metal, at least the way that bass is going.
But the funny thing is, I actually think it's a really great song! Your harmonies sound very strong and even a bit menacing. This makes it wonderful to listen to. Alone, though... And I'm doing this now, for the third time. Imagine what I think. Greetings to Joliz!
Hans

Love this, Bob! Super song with superb vocals by the two of you. Love the drums driving that deliciously glooming backing track. Great use of BiaB instruments. That BiaB soloist worked out great for the fills and sounds like it was played especially for the song. Nicely arranged and mixed, too. Is there anything the two of you CAN'T do???

A song and video with a dark atmosphere. The vocals and music are in harmony to create this successful song. Laurent

Different in some ways, but so Bob & Joliz in all the best ways. The drums pound extra definition for the lyrics. The lyrics are (as always ) extraordinary. Dirge-like in sound and message. All the best to you two.

Wow, I am stunned. Now I know how the fans at Newport felt when they heard Bob Dylan go electric. I always give bonus points for creativity, and this has creativity in spades. I'm a huge fan of your work, I hope that's been clear through the years. However, I'm still processing how I feel about this song. I think it's a bold piece of work, but part of me wonders if maybe - just maybe - there are one or two ingredients in the soup that weren't needed. I could easily be wrong about that. I like the grunge feel to it. I keep going back and listening to it, trying to fit it into my musical brain. Lyrics were great, that's not gonna change. I may do a second review in a week or so if I've any new thoughts. I love Captain Beefheart, so music that's different is fine by me. Maybe you've created a new genre, Bob, and the world needs to discover it - and I need to open my ears to it.

This is a BRILLIANT song and production! Like your song, "Our Town" it reminds me of Neil Young's style on the "Colorado" album. As I wrote on the "Our Town" post, that's a massive compliment as both you and NY are prolific songwriters, albeit that you each have unique and original perspectives. If you had NY's dosh you could produce world class songs with amazing productions - though this new song of yours is exceptional as it is. Freakin' well done! And of course, Joliz' harmony vocals are perfect for it.
Some favourite Waoist Adages: #1: Play on the Way. #13: Ask not for whom the flower blooms, it blooms for you. #58: Bring consciousness to it. #63: On the road to effortlessness, effort must be made. #92: Be Love Now, the rest will come on its own.

Wow, rsdean goes grunge, I appreciate your courage to experiment, especially when it still shows your talented and recognizable songwriting. Dark lyrics without usual nostalgic references to places, yet creating strong images. Great band, excellent mix and those doubled vocals + Joliz are really captivating. That scratch loop fits so perfectly. You fill small bars with your folkier songs and big stadiums with this type of rockers Janne
