Hello everyone,
Recently I posted a Dutch song here for review, I knew it would be a challenge. Not only for you, as potential listeners, but also for my expectations.
To compensate this challenge, I'm now posting a remixed song with a great, funky beat and a fitting video. I made that on february 14, 2026. So you can enjoy it too, instead of having to listen to Dutch lyrics you can't understand! I made this song after a throat surgery. I wanted to see if I could still sing. Well, I did, although the song's story is completely fictional.

On SoundCloud, I posted the remix in place of the original song. This also allowed me to save the old comments. Because I liked them, and maybe you will too!

This song is called: You came back, https://on.soundcloud.com/E5LEy9NYIMY5Pe9NAW

Thanks for listening/watching

Really good, Hans. As I said over on YT:

"Yeah! My new favorite from you, Hans. Great groove, great sounding band, excellent vocal. Good song! And good video too."

What did you use to make the video?

Yeah,,, this was pretty decent. It's always easier to listen, at least for me, when the song is in English.

Very cool video that tracked the song extremely well. I wouldn't even know where to start something like that video.

Nicely done.

That first time singing after surgery, especially throat surgery, is always a scary thing. I didn't have throat surgery but after surgery, where they had a tube down my throat for the duration, it sure affected my vocal cords and not in a good way. It took me months before I was even willing to try singing. That was when I started looking at the AI singers to keep producing my songs. I think I'm back to the point of confidence.

Hi Hans! This is a great song! Pretty standard (yet cool) chugging rhythm guitar, THEN in the second half with what sounds like different chord variations that add some spice. Also love the stops around 2:35 followed by a very bluesy vocal ‘I came home …’. I like it a lot when an artist takes a repeating chord progression and develops it later in the song with inversions, extensions or chord substitutions to create a different flavour.

I note you said you wrote this song after throat surgery - could it be that the song theme of a partner coming back is a metaphor for the return of your singing voice after surgery?

Great song - I loved it!
Andrew

Hey Hans,

Your new studio is clearly the magic‑lab where raw talent meets unfiltered imagination. Every track and video you’ve dropped lately feels like a fresh burst of “wow, that’s cool”.
The world could always use a little more of your unapologetically original vibe.

Rock on,
Izzy

I love the rhythm section in this song - it's a brilliant arrangement and choice of instruments, plus the lead guitar is superb! I wish I'd come up with this chord structure and arrangement! smile

Hans, this is a fantastic song
Your voice sounds great. Even after throat surgery your voice is much better than mine.
Great arrangement, instrumentation, and mix.
I really liked this one.

You're really on a roll, Hans. The production is primo. Vocal was perfect for the subject matter. To my ears, this is pretty much the same chord progression you've been using for quite a while, but it's a good one. I'm so happy your surgery turned out well. We would not like to lose your talent.

Great groove, Hans. It's so nice to hear people singing with their own voice with rendition and making your story sound real. Something bothers in your vocals sound, some effect making it a bit muddy?

Hans, super song! Love your vocals/harmonies and the pulsing 3D stereo image. Cool, slithery harmonic and rhythmic arrangement. You've got those BiaB soloists tamed quite well, too.

I'd say your post-throat surgery vocals are as strong as ever, and maybe STRONGER...

Oh, man, I love this song. I remember the time you had throat surgery. I was with ya, buddy, and i'm still here. Yeah, i can hear the fiction in this one (something i wouldn't have detected in Dutch). Man, sure glad your throat surgery had no effect on your wonderful singing voice. Great production and a good write. Or good production and great write. You choose. In my opinion they're both great.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Hans,

I love the driving sound of this! Such a powerful groove. The real star of this production is the vocal work! I think is probably one of your very best! The harmonies sound so good! Great choices with the realtracks and the way you produced/mixed this!

Thanks, TB

Hi Dave, nice to read this! I made the storyboard for this video, but someone else made the final video. I asked about the software, but she (yes, a woman) talked about all sorts of things, but not about the program used for the video. So I can't tell you, because I don't know myself either. In any case, it's not Canva. I do work with that program, but you can't arrange the figures like you can here.

Hi Herb, the song is based on a true story. Not an accident like in the song. I had a serious problem with my throat. And then I ended up in the hospital for surgery. There is where I made up this story.
As for the actual situation, I can only tell you that I have never experienced anything so painful. Apparently, I was the second person in my country to have to undergo this operation. But fortunately, I can still write and sing songs. Not that first person, I've heard...

Hi Bob, yes, I hope I can do this for a long time. And I think more people will like this one than the Dutch song. With you, I'm not so sure. You "liked" that one as well.

Hi Andrew, thanks a lot for liking and analyzing my song! I liked the rhythm a lot, but there had to be a break in it. and that workd out very nice, also according to your opinion!
But read what I wrote to Herb (above). It was meant as a metaphor in a sense, but not in the way you wrote it. I was naturally afraid that I wouldn't be able to sing anymore, so I demanded that the surgeon save my voice, no matter what. He did, because I eventually had to undergo an even more serious operation, in which my chest had to be cut open as well. He was convinced that I would lose my voice then. So I said to him: my throat is more than enough! And he did. And that is why you can still hear me here!

Hi Izzy, I had expected to receive a huge message from you (as usual), but now it is just a few very nice and complimentary sentences. Are you working on a new project, or something? Anyway, these sentences are very nice too, as I said. I don't know if my new studio contributed to it that much, or if I'm just a lot better than I used to be... and now you're naturally going to say that I was always good, but that didn't always come across that way before I had that new studio, or something like that...

But thank you very much!

Thanks everyone!
Hans

I think this is my new favorite song of yours, Hans.
It’s a tragic and beautiful story, sung beautifully, with a great choice of instruments and fantastic production.

Hello Hans,

This is a really nice driving sound.
Your vocals fit this song perfectly.
It's hard to believe this is the voice after throat surgery.
The lyrics, which are set in a car accident, are also wonderful.
Enjoyed my listen and watch a lot.

Best regards.

Funky and groovy and pulsating! Sort of a metro vibe. Fictional but it could be about your voice too. Your voice is sounding just as good.

Hey Laurent, Thanks for that. To tell you the truth; every time (even accidentally) the song starts to play, I feel the same as you said.
I didn't make this video, but it is indeed very nice! I'll tell the lady who made it!

Hi Chay, I wanted to make a song with a heavy beat and bass, because of what I've been through. And with the help of BiaB (and a little imagination from me), it worked out! Thanks!

Hello Mario, I think my voice was already better than yours even before the surgery... That is to say, that is your own opinion about your singing! I think it is better than you think. I was just proud that I managed to get you to sing once or twice (I begged you for months). Maybe a 3rd time?

Hi Rob, thanks a lot! But do I use the same chord progression for all my recent songs? I didn't know that. To be honest, I don't think so myself. I often use the same key for a song because my vocals fit well with it (D or F). And my songs have a similar structure: an intro, 2 verses, chorus, verses, chorus, solo, verse or bridge, sometimes a transposition for the last 2 choruses. Not everything is like that, but think of it as a structure I like to use.
But you see that in many other songs too. Only modern songs do it differently, for example by having their verses transition into a chorus.

Hello Arri, thanks for your compliments! But regarding the lack of clarity you mentioned, you have told me that before (about another track of mine). I asked you back then where you heard that "muddyness" in that track. But perhaps you didn't read that. I ask you to do the same for this track. It might be my ears, but I haven't heard any "muddyness" (yet). Could you indicate this?

Thanks everyone and have a nice day,
Hans

Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). If you love funk & gospel, there are great new options this year, including gospel organ (3) from Charles Treadway, as well as new funk, tango, and rock ’n’ roll drums (3) and bass (1). And for big, bold arrangements, we have uptempo soul horns (4) featuring a three-part hip horn section with options for a full mix or stems of each individual horn — plus an accompanying rhythm section (4) of drums, bass, guitar, and electric piano!

Rock & Pop (Sets 476–482):
Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.

Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.

Check out all the 202 new RealTracks (in sets 468-488)!
