Sailing Through The Breeze on Soundcloud Sailing Through The Breeze on YouTube A song about embracing nature to overcome some of the ill effects of culture. When posting i add the Style as well as the RTs in that style with their numbers. Any other RTs used that are not in that style are listed as "in song." It's helpful if someone hears some RT that they want to use it. I had that experience listening to DC Ron's song once. For this song i lost the 3 RT soloists that would have been listed below as "in song." Style is _ROYALST.STY (Royal St New Orleans Piano Funk) RealTracks in style: 3782:Piano, Acoustic, Rhythm NewOrleansFunky Ev16 095 RealTracks in style: 2618:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm Funk16thsMutedWahWah Ev16 100 RealTracks in style: 2619:Organ, Rhythm Funk Ev 100 RealDrums in style:FunkHalfNotePulse: a: Snare, Kick b: Busy Kick, Snare was used in the redesign in EZDDrummer. I sang and played bass. Sailing Through The BreezeAll the problems of life can upset your sure-foot stride. There's a method you could use to get through. Whenever you're tripped up and you feel you've had enough, trim your sails to the wind and renew. Then it's alright sailing through the breeze. Through the calm night, we'll be doing what we please. With the sunrise warmer winds will blow. If the sea swells, sailing skills will show. Everything you know you'll set free by letting go. When you listen to the wind it lifts your soul. So then everything you see will be clear as clear can be, and the truth of wind is what you'll know. Don't be afraid of crashing waves. They wash away all the strife. And when you feel the world is drowning you, the breeze will save your life. V-- (A A E E)2 CH-- D A E A-A7 D A E A BR-- F#m F#m E E D F#m Bm E.E.E.E.

Marty, I don't know how you do it but you come up with one great song after another. Plus they all sound like they came from a professional studio, thus they are all radio ready and should be on the radio today. I am so jealous! Your vocal is very strong, the lyrics very good, and the mix is perfect. Loved it

Hi Marty,
I have heard this song a few times now and I still think it is amazing! Your harmonies are very beautiful. A few miracles happen in the video, but that is exactly what makes the atmosphere so wonderful. I just wondered why that man with the oar kept rowing while the wind was filling the sails. But there probably wasn't a place for him to sit. That boat was so full...
But, as I said, a lovely song. It quickly makes you want to go sailing again yourself. But right now, the weather here isn't cooperating. Sail ahead, Marty!

Marty,
That's an amazing piece of music!
That guitar and your vocal are complete standouts. This mix is stellar - agree with Mario - it sounds like a studio cut.
Loved everything about this one!

Ha! Nice one, Marty! Certainly a better solution than doom scrolling, which seems to be quite the thing these days.
Great vocals and harmonies. The scatting is fab, as is that wild finish. Couldn't quit focusing on the bass--that's some hypnotic stuff you've got going on. Liked the (uncredited?) solo, it fit right in. Super mix, too.
VERY COOL!

Hi Marty! I love the variety of BVs you have in this song - even some scatting in the outro! Andrew

Well, Marty, when I heard the first opening chords I thought, "Oh no! Is this another nauseating country dance hall tune filled with cavalier macho cliches with a polished twang? Then it straight into a wildly abandoned wacky good time song with you belting out unpolished down home vocals and was IMMEDIATELY GREAT!!! I loved it!!! The nondescript words at the end is the perfect touch. If you're going to write a fun cut it loose type of song, serve it up sloppy on a big oval platter, go for the gusto and let it rip! And that's exactly what you did and it brings out the mood, emotion, with a lot of punch like nothing else can. Great job, my friend!

Marty,
You are such a "breeze" of positivity in this forum! This place would certainly be a lot less interesting if you were not here posting these wonderful songs! Man, you were getting busy with that bass towards the end and that scat stuff put a smile on my face! Keep on rockin'
Take care, TB

Really cool Marty. I would have liked the intro to continue under the 1st vocal line for a few beats as it seemed to end abruptly BUT that's absolutely noting to worry about as it's just my expectations getting in the way. Fab song, fab vocal and a bass line that is all Marty: in the pocket, moving confidently and always in support of the song.

Brilliant production again! Love the backing vocals and solo. When I first saw the title my robot mind automatically read "Sailing Through the Red" as it's the title of a poem I wrote in the early 70s. It inspired a friend to create a single acoustic guitar instrumental, which I just played lead to. I still have it on tape, but it's very poor quality sound. Anyway, love the song!
I recently wrote on a couple of new forum posts with YT links that my YT comments had vanished, so for some reason I now have to log-in to YT in order to see them when previously I could always see them when clicking the YT links here. I now recall that I wrote on one of your YT posts - either this one or the previous one - that your music and lyrics reminded of 2 of my favourite Japanese poems, which I wrote that I'd post here, so here they are!

Your vocal is very strong, the lyrics very good, and the mix is perfect. Loved it Thanks, Mario. I never question the source, but i sure do enjoy the process. YOU? Jealous? Ha! You are nothing but inspirational to me. Hi Marty,
I have heard this song a few times now and I still think it is amazing! Your harmonies are very beautiful. Hans Thanks, Hans. Your comment too has lasting value. All of those "what's wonky with this video" questions are sent to my A(small i) department. Do you like how he's back-stroking? Are you a sailor? I mean, do you like sailing? Remminds me of that song we never finished, Hans On Deck. Marty,
That's an amazing piece of music!

Bob Thanks, Bob. You mean a lot to me. I listen to our songs a lot. Ha! Nice one, Marty! Certainly a better solution than doom scrolling, which seems to be quite the thing these days.

VERY COOL! Thanks, Ron. Yep. Sail right passed all those doom scrolls. If it all ends tomorrow, at least you sailed through today. Thanks for the nod to the bass. That scat at the end was just an ad libed placeholder where i wanted to have the solotist breeze through. Hi Marty! I love the variety of BVs you have in this song - even some scatting in the outro! Andrew Thanks, Andrew. That scat at the end wasn't meant for the final mix, but i couldn't a carefree soloist.

A great song with truly beautiful harmonies. And a fantastic outro. Love it! I think I've told you this before, but just like Floyd, I always see you smiling when you sing. You spread good mood...

This one almost goit past me, don't know how I missed it. Nice song, love the nautical allegory, and the scat singing at the end. How many songs have you written now? More than all the sonnets you wrote, I'll bet! Great work, Babumusic owes you a raise!

I bet that pedal steel in the opening didn't help. Right? You get it. If it's a song promoting apathy, it should be simultaneously careless and carefree. Marty,

Take care, TB Ha! Thanks, Torrey. Hope i'm not the cool breeze that Chuck Berry sang about. Glad you made it to the end. Thanks, Ray. This song was done for like 18 months, but I couldn't get a satisfactory soloist. SO i ended up using 3 different ones (and by then i just wanted to get it done ) Thanks again, my fellow bassist. This song, Marty, is a breath of fresh air, and the video makes you want to get away from it all. Laurent Thanks, Laurent. Sail away from all of stuff that tends to trim your sails. That's the message, i guess. Brilliant production again! Love the backing vocals and solo. fj Haha! "Sing with a smile." I like that. Like it all. Thanks, Floyd. A great song with truly beautiful harmonies. And a fantastic outro. Love it! I think I've told you this before, but just like Floyd, I always see you smiling when you sing. You spread good mood... Yes, thanks, Brain. I think you did too, and Floyd agrees. I'm gonna hafta film me next time. Nah. hehe! Nobody wants that. Hey Marty, Fun song, good vocal and great harmonies! Love the scat at the end especially, made me smile picturing you doing it Thanks, Dave. Yeah, to me that scat has connotations of the alternate meaning of the word, but thanks. It was a quick ad lib after recording one of the harmony parts because i knew something had to be there. Didn't even try to Melodyne it. This one almost goit past me, don't know how I missed it. Nice song, love the nautical allegory, and the scat singing at the end. How many songs have you written now? More than all the sonnets you wrote, I'll bet! Great work, Babumusic owes you a raise! Thanks, Bob. It was probably the tailwind. It's weird man. I've written over 200 in 5 years, but stopped last December to remaster old crap. Now the new crap is mostly done, I'm writing more. Oh, yeah, I wrote 155 of those back in '69; had to write one more than The Bard, but that, of course is the only comparison. I'd much prefer the stories you write.

With Band-in-a-Box® 2026, we've released 202 incredible new RealTracks (in sets 468-488) in a variety of genres—featuring your most requested styles!
Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). If you love funk & gospel, there are great new options this year, including gospel organ (3) from Charles Treadway, as well as new funk, tango, and rock ’n’ roll drums (3) and bass (1). And for big, bold arrangements, we have uptempo soul horns (4) featuring a three-part hip horn section with options for a full mix or stems of each individual horn — plus an accompanying rhythm section (4) of drums, bass, guitar, and electric piano!
Rock & Pop (Sets 476–482):
Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.
Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.
Check out all the 202 new RealTracks (in sets 468-488)!
