Hey Y'all Well, this is just an acoustic piece, but it is what I am working on at the moment--a full album of stuff like this, soothing, relaxing Celtic-type stuff with the sound of wood and an occasional fretboard squeak. I have another alternative rock album about to drop, but I have to say I get A LOT more streams, licenses, and purchases for stuff like this by far than I do for anything else. I have a couple of folks who play some of my "soothing" albums every morning with coffee to start their day. This is the kind of music I listen to most during the day while I am working, so I figured I might as well make my own. I am switching to ReverbNation for my posts, because it is so easy, and I can move things around and I never run out of space. https://www.reverbnation.com/davidpsnyder/song/35344693-the-gladeAnyway, this process is super easy, and I never have to leave RealBand, or import stuff to a DAW (I use Cakewalk/Sonar for other things), I do it all in BIAB and Real Band. I have several templates for Celtic waltzes, and Celtic 4/4 (real track styles and midi styles), and use a mixture of both. He is the process: 1.) I open a Celtic midi template. Then I choose a tempo, and write a chord progression. 2.) I record the acoustic in BIAB and get a .wav file on my desktop. Usually 1 take. 3.) I export the midi version pre-mixed. 4.) I open up the real track version in Real Band. 5.) I pop the Brainworx BX Master desk plugin I got for free on the various busses and my guitar (which has its own buss), fiddle with the levels for a couple of seconds and hit render. That is it. Zero effects and no AI. Just BIAB and a Taylor. Well hope you like it if you like background music as much as I do.

That’s pretty much the opposite of the David Snyder we know, but I can really see why this kind of music is so popular. It’s relaxing without being boring, making it perfect for unwinding after a long day. Enjoyed my listen. A lot ![[Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]](https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/images/icons/default/thumbs_up.gif)

Very cool, David. Thanks for explaining your process. It's both extraordinary simple and extraordinary. Love your playing (again) on this one. Very graceful melody with a soothing, flowing narrative. Your playing is SO clean, and I love your touch and articulation. It's easy to listen to but not boring in the least... Glad to see you posting again.

Hi David! Good to hear and hear about your recent projects. I can see that this style of music would be very relaxing in the background. To me, music is like food - ever present in a daily routine. Andrew

David, those are some excellent chops on that acoustic of yours. An outstanding instrumental. The backing tracks fit perfectly. We can never have to many instrumentals in the showcase. Loved it.

Enjoyed!

Lovely, soothing instrumental, David, plus a great title for it, too.

Very nice, Dave. I'm glad that you're getting some recognition for this kind of music, but I'm a little bummed that listeners aren't responding to your original vocal material. Because those songs are special. I know I'm a big fan. Every once in a while I play Jubal just cuz it sounds so raw and so good. Don't Blame Me When I Fall is killer, too. Speaking of celtic guitar, do you listen to Al Petteway? He was from Asheville, but passed in 2023. Almost every day I listen to "A Waltz for Rebecca" from his Caledon Wood album. It's on youtube, check it out.

Well, i gotta admit to playing your music a lot, David, and i like the "let it all go" stuff the most. Yet, you are right, this and many others of yours are so relaxing, erasing all of the clutter in one's mind, and allowing the meaning to come forth.
Man, i am surely a convert to your soothing sounds, David. That Taylor sounds so good, played so well. Think i'll just...

I wonder if a little reverb on the guitar would be beneficial, but no matter, it's a lovey composition. Truly.

I kept waiting for you to come in on the vocals then I realized, somewhere around the 4 minute point, hmmmmm, I'll bet this is an instrumental.
Nicely done, good mix, enjoyed the song.
