I want a method to adjust the base/treble balance on my Bose speaker amps for ALL songs both Midi and RT. I am using a Roland SD50 for Midi and a Focusrite for RTs feeding into a mixer. I have been playing around with the mixer tone control on the master slot but it doesn't seem to make any difference to the Bose sound.
What is the best way to do this so that I can adjust and save one overall master setting for each song.

Good morning from France, Tony.

Please provide a connection diagram or description of your setup. When you say "Bose speaker amps", I assume that they are powered speakers connected to the main outputs (Outputs 1 & 2) on your Focusrite audio interface (which model?), and that the Focusrite is connected via USB to your computer. Are you using the Focusrite ASIO driver (Focusrite Control 2) or Windows Audio? How is your Roland SD-50 connected? Via USB to the computer or via MIDI to the Focusrite? How is it's audio outputs connected? To a pair of inputs on the Focusrite? Add any other info that might help in answering your question, like how is BiaB's audio output configured vs Windows audio output.

Thanks for you detailed reply
My laptop is connected to the midi input on the SD50 via a separate midi module. I used to connect via USB but when I got a new computer running Win11 I discovered there is no driver avaiable from Roland.
I am connected to the Focusrite Solo via a separate USB from the computer and am using the Focusrite ASIO driver.
The audio outputs from both devices are connected separately to a mixer as is the keyboard output. The mixer has no master EQ.
My keyboard is also connected to the mixer.
The combined output then is connected to two Bose L1 speaker/amps.
I am not sure how to answer the question about audio output.
I assume that I could solve my problem if I had a mixer with a master EQ but I was hoping I could do it within BIAB.

Hi Tony,

FWIW - a master EQ may not work for all songs. You may have to use an EQ on all of your BiaB tracks for optimum results. However the PG 10 band EQ did have a major effect on my system monitors when used on the master track. Try some extreme settings ( all bass, all treble, all mid range settings) and see if they change the sound on your Bose. They did here.

OK, a random thought;
Why does toilet paper need a commercial? Who's not buying it?

Yes, I have come to the same conclusion. My mixer has EQ adjustment for keyboard, midi, and RT but I was hoping for a single control for the mix. You can get a separate master EQ box to fit between mixer and speakers but I don't want another piece of kit.

I suggest you take a look at Gig Performer. They have a 14-day free trial of the Pro version available. I've been using GP since v1. The current version is v5, with v6 coming soon. A lot of excellent professional musicians use it live. The developers are former IBM Research engineers and also touring musicians. There's nothing else that comes close to it.

Just brainstorming, but if you replace your Focusrite Solo with a 4th gen 4i4 or 16i16 (which I think would work a little better for you), you could also eliminate your mixer and the MIDI module. Use the MIDI output of the 16i16 MIDI i/o to your SD-50. Route the SD-50 audio out to 16i16 analog inputs 3 & 4. Route the keyboard audio outputs to 16i16 analog inputs 5 & 6. If you choose a 4i4 instead, you'd have to use the front panel inputs 1 & 2 instead of inputs 5 & 6 located on the rear of the 16i16.

I am assuming that you've saved your BiaB backing tracks to stereo audio files and that you trigger the SD-50 and the appropriate audio file from your laptop. You can do all of the mixing, EQ'ing, clip playing etc. inside of GP and connect your Bose L1 powered speakers to the 4i4/16i16 main outputs (1 & 2).
