When granddaughter Charley (11) saw the first line of the lyrics, she said, “What's this? The Stalker's Anthem” Darn, I didn't think of that. So I changed some of the words, and in the Bridge I tried giving the unstalker explanation. Then for the video I had to make the characters more like cute little Pixar people. Did I tame it enough? It's been a while, I know, but you're still in my heart. Open your front door to life ahead . Is today the day you let me in so the rest of our life may begin? Until I am in, I'll be here without sitting outside your house. Once we were a thing but you felt there might be more. Today you say you still think of me. My heart still beats your name every second you're away. Turn the porch light on and you will see. Earler today we met by chance and you were telling me how much you missed me since we split up, and I said I get off work at 9. I'll stop by and sit outside. If you want to try again just blink the light. Ambling back and forth on the walk outside your house hoping that the porch light soon comes on when suddenly you're there with your come-hither stare inviting me to stay till dawn. We now love to spend our days inside rekindling the fire once denied. The rest of our life we'll live side by side looking outside our house. Sting had a number one hit with "Every Breath You Take" that took jealousy and stalking to the top for nine weeks and no one complained! But that's clearly not what your song is about. Oh, and how about Daryl Hall's "Private Eyes"? Okay, aside from that, you've got the bluesy swagger down and it sounds terrific! Well, we just got our covid boosters again and the side effects are hitting me so I'm hitting the Ibuprofen. Very good to hear new songs from you! John

I had to chuckle about the scene in the video where the young man is waiting outside for the light to go on - he appears to be doing the moonwalk at the end of the driveway! Nice band and much-better-than nice guitar fills/solo. Super mix. When my brother writes a lyric like this, his spouse will often ask who it's about. "I just made it up" is met with a dubious glare... Glad I don't write lyrics. It wasn't until the woman in the story surreptitiously invited the guy over (maybe), that the "stalker" moniker wore off. Happy you liked the ending. This guy's illusion is not just going backwards while appearing to walk forward, he manages to move sideways while keeping his toes and heels straight. Yeah, i didn't even try it. The video’s characters reminded Janice of Toy Story’s Woody and Jessie with their smiles. Cool! As always, a strong band with great performances by you. And Dave’s guitar was icing on the cake.
