I wanted to share something I have been working on recently using RealBand as a core part of my workflow.
I have just released two albums: • Rewired: Familiar Strangers • Miles to Go
Lately I have been focusing on creating original material using RealBand together with some newer AI assisted tools, while still keeping my own vocals and musical direction at the centre.
For me, it is not about replacing anything. It is about getting from idea to a finished track more quickly, and being able to explore different styles along the way.
I know AI can be a sensitive topic, so I am not here to debate that. I just want to share what has been working for me in practice.
Here are a few examples of original tracks created using this approach:

If anyone is curious, I am happy to share the tools I have been using and how they fit into my workflow.
If there is enough interest, I am thinking of offering a small number of paid one on one sessions where I walk through the full process from initial idea through to a finished original track.
No pressure at all. Just putting it out there in case it is useful.

Joanne i have always loved your work and really love your vocal work here. particularly in Paradox of you. I also love to work in RB and have been working in Lyrics lab and working on an album project. I hope to have a snippet soon. Oops i spoke to soon, i love the last one "Love will come to me"

Nice songs, Joanne! I'm a newbie to BiaB and RealBand. I'm more interested in BiaB as I didn't think RealBand was capable of sounding that great until now - wow!
I am curious about the AI assisted tools that you used for your latest songs. I'm trying to find that line of what's acceptable and what's not, within my own heart.
Do/did you find any areas that make you unsure of whether or not you should use AI? You mentioned some obvious (to me) ones like vocals and musical direction. I'm more interested in something like lyric suggestions or editing, as an example. Thanks!
ive used many music creation apps. all had great sound unless not set up properly.
rb is capable of doing any song at highest quality in any genre. ive done a ton of songs useing rb and bb.
bb and rb have both have their plusses and minuses. to name one example...bb is blink of an eye at genning tracks... while rb has superior audio/midi handling includeing lots of features bb doesnt. so often i gen tracks useing bb and then drag into rb bcos of 255 tracks and rb tracks view is better than bb tracks view. read the manuals for both bb and rb and youll see many features rb has that bb dont eg handling of 48 khz recording and odd time sigs to name 2. i'll leave it at that otherwise this post would end up a book...lol.
see my tips in pg tips forum and posts in realband and bb forums etc. Joanne did a fab job....showing it all comes down to the ability of the user useing rb....she is tops.

Sounds really good. Would be interested in the mixing & mastering process and what audio effects plugins are used, and how AI is utilized as well.

Hi Jeff Thanks for the interest. In summary 1. I recorded my original song using the appropriate tempo, key and Band-in-a-box style and exported to MP3 2. Imported the MP3 into Suno (Pro version) 3. Produced a series of Suno covers until I found something I liked . Used female AI vocals and instructed it to use the exact key and vocal nuances as in the sample 4. Exported all stems to wav files 5. Dragged all stems to Realband, muted lead vocal 6. Recorded my vocal 7. Did any editing of glitches in instrumental and backing vocals in realband. Particularly at the start and end. 8. Cleaned, tuned and fixed timing issues with my vocal using Melodyne. 10. Passed my fixed vocal through Kits.ai (pro subscription) using a model trained on my own voice 11. Exported all stems from realband 12. Used cryo-mix ai (pro subscription) tool to mix and master the final file. I think the preset I used was “radio ready”. Hope this helps
