This is a song I wrote several years ago and tried to sing, but I wasn't happy with the result and abandoned it. I redid the vocals with Suno, and I thought the result was better. "Brigade des mineurs" refers to a police unit that deals with juvenile delinquency. A number of young people, sometimes very young, are tempted by all kinds of trafficking, easy money, and violence. Unfortunately, it's a path that can prove risky, even fatal. A word to the wise! The song has English subtitles.

Laurent Lyrics [Verse 1] You shouldn't have set foot In this mess You're not cut out to play In the gangsters' yard In Mexico, Caracas, I wouldn't bet on your carcass Thrown to the bottom of the canyon, You're messing around, there's no one Who can reason with you, you're acting like a Chicano, but given the caliber of the guns You won't get any vaccination Against the ammunition,
[Chorus] You'll have 5 bullets in your skin In your brain, there's zero, Big muscles aren't enough To play the guy who's gonna smash everything If you don't back down, some people will put you in your place You'll be six feet under, X2 [Outro] On your tomb, there's a promo They'll finish you off with a knife So bye-bye in the grave
Laurent, very moody and cinematic. Like that band you've put together, especially the funky bass. The pedal steel works really well as a mood setter, better than I would have expected. Great job incorporating the (uncredited?) guitar soloist. Like the arrangement and production. Cool bell accents. The selective delay on the vocals is a cool effect, too. The vocalist sounds better than fine. Like how the vocals sit in the mix, too.
Super job!

Hi Laurent! The bass provides the feeling of movement in this song, and I love the steel guitar and tubular bells (?) in the chorus. The chord progression really suits the mood and theme of the song. Sounds good! Andrew
A very moody song Laurent, full of menace and dangerous chords. Thank you for the translation, although I’m not sure what a Chicano is. A tough topic to write about I would have thought, but you’ve done great with the dark feel of the subject matter.
Good song, Laurent, very different for you. Thematically, all too common in the US. Vocals are excellent and the ToneX guitar really delivers. Nice work.

This could be the soundtrack for a thriller. Great work, it’s very atmospheric, and the backing tracks perfectly support the message of the lyrics. Well done
So good, Laurent. This could/should be a theme song for a show with the4 same name. The video you made is perfect and very engaging --makes me want to watch more episodes. Cool idea having the English on the video while keeping the French in the vocalist. hehe. Yeah, French is my favorite sounding language. Outstanding and very creative.
Enjoy whatever happens! marty

Laurent, this is very different than your other posts, very moody. Outstanding guitar chops. Super video that matched the lyrics perfectly. Great use of the synth vocal, it sounded like a human singing. Loved the backing band, IMHO this is your best to date. Loved it.

Amazing rock song, lyrically and production-wise. A very unique theme.

Great band. Love the bass and the guitar solo. The vocals work well. Excellent mix all around.
And the video supports the grimness of the narrative very well.
Well done!

Is this a story about the Mexican mafia? In any case, what an incredible video. The music, along with the lyrics, matches this video perfectly. The vocal of Suno is also wonderful. I'm always amazed by the breadth of your musical genres. Enjoyed my listen and watch a lot.
