Hey Everybody, I decided to record an Easter song for Jesus. https://www.reverbnation.com/davidpsnyder/song/35361674-how-great-thou-artI used an old 1960s classical guitar I received as a gift from my sister. It may have cost $50 when it was new, because that was approximately the time frame that Bob Dylan was first singing Blowing in the Wind. I played it freestyle into an SM-81. It was metronome-free for V1 and Ch1 and then I lined it up with a click track for part two which adheres to the hymnbook version with strings. Hope you like it, and I hope that when I pass on Jesus will let me squeak into heaven by the skin of my teeth with a lottery ticket in my hand and a bag full of extra brownie points, because let’s just say that I would have made Mick Jagger blush in my younger days—and Keith Richards would have been horrified. Hi David!
‘How great though art’ has always been a good hymn, and well played and arranged by you. That classical guitar sounds very crisp! A wonderful Easter treat!

Lovely, David. Very nice touch and phrasing. Superb transition to the accompanied section. Love how the ending both fades and resolves. Super mix and master. Masterful stuff.

Over Christmas I rescued a $25 Martin/Sigma guitar from a lamp conversion fate at a small antique store. Though it shows the scars of a well-played life, it's one of my favorite guitars. Now, if I could only PLAY it as well as you...

Hi David.
This is superb listening. I absolutely love your arrangement. When the cello came in, you sent shivers up and down my spine and goosebumps appeared on my arms... such a marvelous sound that resonates with warmth, hope and sincerity. I have always loved this hymn and you have taken it to a place that I have never heard before. "Beautiful" and "powerful" were the words that kept appearing in my mind as I listened.

Fine chops, tone and mix. The cello was an excellent touch. We both grew up in rural GA and attended country churches. This was THE song around easter and other occasions. Kids all decked out for the special day and the choir mostly on key as ... I recall.  Heck Bud is so old the men and women sat on opposite sides of the aisle. Well done! J&B
