Hi Noel!
There can be a lot worse than listening to The Temptations! Tom Waits, for example. This is the song that I mentioned to you that I used a saturation plugin, and it certainly made the track come alive than without it.
Thank you for being part of a wonderful audience!

Miss James Jamerson, but i love the song. I like Ron's reference to Neil & Marvin --surely an odd couple. What a good write, Andrew. Excellent melody and you surround it with the best band. The vocals are perfect --love that harmony idea. Ha, i like your exchange with Vic. I feel that way about my vocals too.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Thank you Marty! Yes that bass in *that* style was a real find. Despite my vocals, I’m going to keep recording my own songs - I just feel there is something inherently good about expressing myself in song.

Really enjoyed the instrumentation and arrangement of this song. I have about as much hair as you do and I have it cut every 5 weeks, but I now find myself combing my head before I go out, when I come back home and whenever I take off or put on a pullover, but when I look in a mirror nothing's changed! laugh

Thanks for listening Chay! My older brother - who also is bald - had t-shirts made up emblazoned with ‘Joyfully recede’.

Pretty successful Andrew.
The rhythm section lacks a little push but taht's hard to achieve in BIAB.
the vocals make a good draft/planning set. I can hear this with a a couple of confident voices being an absolute belter.
VERY cool song.

Pretty cool intro, Andrew.
I'm not sure if your song qualifies as Motown, but I'm no expert on the subject, so what do I know?
But I know a good song when I hear one, and this is definitely a good song.
I like the little details you’ve included, they really make the song interesting.

Andrew,
I really loved the instrumentation in your song. Well done.

Song does have a bit of a soul feel.

Good vocal too. You have a unique voice. Slightly Bowiesque.

Thanks Ray! You’ve touched on what my main mission is – I want to illustrate the musical idea I had but without any pretense of commercial success for me or anyone else. To me, it’s a bit like doing a really good painting and have it hanging on the wall in my lounge room and have visitors comment on it.
Thanks for listening!

Thanks B.D.! This RealStyle was a really good find and worked well with my song idea, and in turn helped inspire the arrangement of the song. I particularly like the impact that the vibes had from verse 2 onwards.
Thanks for listening!

Hi AurealiusB!
Shout out to bassist Craig Young who provided the bass RealTrack used in this RealStyle. Yes, I do have a unique voice, and not the best singer, but I do love expressing myself in song. There’s something almost mystical(?) about singing, I reckon.
Thanks for listening, and looking forward for when you drop another of your songs!

That's a fantastic opening line! Snappy but laid back tune. Pleasant instrumentation. I enjoyed your lead guitar.

Thanks Scott and Scott! I think I owe a lot to the bass and drums in this RealStyle - while I already had the first couple of lines in lyric and music, the Style gave me a lot of inspiration and impetus. I tried several lead guitar passages, but I either couldn’t play them fluently enough, or they were over complicated for the song, so I settled for something simpler within my playing range.

Hi Andrew,

I saw your video about a week ago, but couldn't leave a comment then (I had to go somewhere, I almost forgot. So I was in a hurry...).
I watched it again now and had to laugh at that video again. Very nicely made! I really liked the song too. A bit strange, but with very good choruses and really good harmonies!
Honestly, I had mixed feelings about the lyrics; delivered cheerfully, but also a bit sad.

Sorry that I forgot to give you a thumbs up earlier. But still, even though I was late, I was apparently the first to post a comment on your song on YouTube. How is that possible, with all those nice comments here?

Hans

We join in with Ron that it is more of a Neil Young vibe.
And, for us, there is nothing wrong with that. Big fans.

Your performances on both guitar and vocals sound fine.
You always present a fine mix and this is not an exception.

Cool write too.

Enjoyed it!

Very nice band, I enjoyed the cool guitar hook which is very memorable - a sign of a good earworm. Nice soul rhythm, yep, some Motown in the groove but good old soul in the sound... and the vibes adds 60's mood. Nice lyrics also, "I have to look at you, this could be the last time" says much. And as always, pleasant chord progression and melody, Your vocals deliver the message from the heart.

I like it. A witty write that's somewhat comical and sobering at the same time, and the mix is well balanced.

Thanks J & B! I’ll accept Neil Young any day!

Hi Janne! Yes, I really like the RealStyle used as well - I am glad you liked my guitar motif addition. Regarding the lyrics, it’s a bit of a mixed bag - but isn’t life?

Thanks Scott! I am on the quirkiness spectrum, if there is such a thing.
