Hello PG Music,
I would appreciate some clarification about the VAT charged on orders shipped to Germany.
For my order, VAT appears to be charged by PG Music at checkout. At the same time, for a USB hard drive imported into Germany, I understand that I may also have to pay 19% German import VAT upon import, usually collected by the transport carrier before or at delivery.
Could you please explain:
• What exact type of VAT or tax is being charged by PG Music at checkout?
• To which authority is this VAT paid?
• Does this payment replace the German import VAT, or do I still have to pay 19% import VAT in Germany when the shipment arrives?
• In other words, is there a risk that I am being charged VAT twice — once by PG Music and once again by the German authorities?
I would be grateful for a clear explanation of how this is handled for shipments to Germany, especially for orders delivered on a USB hard drive.

P.S.: Additionally, I would like to know why this year you no longer offer a download-only upgrade option, as you did in 2025.
There is certainly an [b]Audiophile Edition Download only tab in the Mac Store for both new purchases and upgrades. Perhaps the EU version of the website has not been properly updated since the announcement is only hours old? I don’t know but it’s there on the USA site.
