Hello! I’m new to the forum. I go by the stage name of Finnajane.

I wrote my first album “Midnight Eyes” back in 2001 and I am now working on new singles using the 2024 UltraPak BIAB version.

I have a background in live performance, previously singing and playing bass in a full-time cover duo for 10 years. I also share music in more intimate settings by performing for nursing home residents with acoustic guitar and vocals. Lately, my focus has shifted back toward original songwriting.

Here is my first song created in BIAB entitled “Say Goodbye”

BIAB style and instruments used:

_LITEPOP 4/4 ev16 Lite Pop/Songwriter Guitar
Real tracks used: 1825: Bass, Electric, PopModernGroove, Drums: NashBrushBal, 2552: Guitar, Acoustic, Fingerpicking, 2553: Guitar, Acoustic, Fingerpicking Songwriter 16ths

Vocals are performed by me, recorded into Tascam DP-008EX. NO Auto Tune on vocals. All tracks imported, mixed and mastered in Audacity.

Thanks for taking a few minutes to check out my song!

Say Goodbye © 2026 Finnajane

felt so good to have you near
on that winter's morn
without a word without a tear
like the wind you were gone

I never even had a chance
to take one last look in your eyes
I knew you had to go
you couldn't take it slow
I never had a chance to say goodbye

you could have stayed right next to me
until the end of time
but you were never meant for me
not a plan divine

Yesterday you went away
and it was no surprise
that you were going to go
you couldn't let it show
I never had a chance to say goodbye

time can be unkind
you live on inside

I knew you had to go
you couldn't take it slow

I never had a chance to say goodbye
I never had a chance to say goodbye
I never had a chance to say goodbye

Welcome to the forum.

What a cool first song as your introduction.

You have a nice selection of tracks in this.

I enjoyed listening.

Hi Finnajane!
Welcome to the Forum! What a great introductory song to join with! I especially loved the drone-like hums in parts of the song, but all of it was good to listen to. Good use of the BIAB tracks. I had a sneak peek at your other songs on YouTube as well - looking forward to what you post in future.

I joined the forum over a year ago and can truthfully say the folks here are very supportive but also kind and gentle in their suggestions. I hope you find it rewarding. You’ll also find that if you check out and comment on others’ User Showcase posts, you’ll get more views/followers in return, as well as gaining inspiration, ideas and skills along the way.

Yes, welcome to the forum - I assume it's Jane. Great use of BiaB samples as the whole song flows along like a stream; plus as Marty (Babu Music) said, the lyrics are very relatable as most of us here on the from are venerable retirees - I don't think it's 'woke' to say 'old' as it's ageist laugh - and there are always folk departing who we never get a change to say "Fare well" to,
You may - or may not - want to change your forum monika as there's also a Floyd Jane here and at first I thought I was going to see a new post from him.
My first name is Chay, by the way, WaoBand (=wAo= band) being BiaB sampled musicians.

Some favourite Waoist Adages:
#1: Play on the Way.
#13: Ask not for whom the flower blooms, it blooms for you.
#58: Bring consciousness to it.
#63: On the road to effortlessness, effort must be made.
#92: Be Love Now, the rest will come on its own.

Thanks, Chay! Glad you enjoyed my song! I’m no spring chicken myself as I like to say “I’m definitely on the back 9 – about to tee up on the 15th hole” 🤣 I’ve lost so many in my life - I barely have anyone left.

I will definitely look into changing my “FJane” to Finna so as not to confuse anyone on the forum. I go by “Finnajane”. Being new to the forum, I wasn’t aware of Floyd Jane. I’ll have to see if I’m able to change it. Thanks for the heads up!

This is so very nice. You sing well and have a very "relatable" voice. I also liked the harmonies. This is one of those tracks that manages to make one happy even though the lyrics are sad.

Welcome to the Showcase, Finnajane.

That's a pretty good song for your first gig here, and you have a beautiful voice that reminds me of someone, but I just can't figure out who.

Thank Lingyai! I appreciate the compliments on my voice! That's what got me started in music was singing...learning instruments, theory, and songwriting all came a lot later. Glad you enjoyed the song!

Thanks B.D.! Thanks for the compliments on my voice too! I would never compare myself to her but I was leaning toward an Olivia Newton-John vibe on the vocals as she was my first singing inspiration, although, I've also "learned" from a lot of other female and male artists that I was a fan of. I never had vocal lessons, so I just learned to emulate others' vocals.

Great entry to the forum and welcome.
And it's always nice to have another lady on board!

We much liked all aspects of the tune ....
vocals, band choice and the open/airy mix.
It all set up a nice soundstage on our monitors.

Well done,

J&B

202 New RealTracks Released with Band-in-a-Box 2026!

With Band-in-a-Box® 2026, we've released 202 incredible new RealTracks (in sets 468-488) in a variety of genres—featuring your most requested styles!

Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). If you love funk & gospel, there are great new options this year, including gospel organ (3) from Charles Treadway, as well as new funk, tango, and rock ’n’ roll drums (3) and bass (1). And for big, bold arrangements, we have uptempo soul horns (4) featuring a three-part hip horn section with options for a full mix or stems of each individual horn — plus an accompanying rhythm section (4) of drums, bass, guitar, and electric piano!

Rock & Pop (Sets 476–482):
Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.

Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.

Check out all the 202 new RealTracks (in sets 468-488)!

And, if you are looking for more, the 2026 49-PAK (for $49) includes an impressive collection of 20 bonus RealTracks, featuring exciting and inspiring additions to add to your RealTracks library. You'll get new country-rhythm guitar styles from PG Music favorites Johnny Hiland and Brent Mason, along with modern-pop grooves that capture today’s radio-ready sound! There are also new indie-folk styles with guitar, bass, 6-string bass used as a high-chording instrument, acoustic guitar, and banjo. Plus, dedicated "cymbal fills" RealDrums provide an added layer that work very well with low-key folky styles with other percussion.

The 2026 49-PAK is loaded with other great new add-ons as well. Learn more about the 2026 49-PAK!
