Hi, I'm a newb.

Just received and installed last night. I entered 8 bars of chords and selected some real tracks which sounded great. Then I added 16 more bars and no matter what I did, the program just kept playing the same first eight bars over and over.

If I tried to play "from" bar 10... it would start at the first bar anyway. So I deleted everything and started from scratch (used different chords as well) and it still played only the first eight bars of the previous chords I'd entered. Do I have to do a save or something?

I've looked at the manual on entering chords which is how I learned to do it.
sorry to be new with a stoooopid question. Am I missing something obvious.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi Chazsi,
Not to restate the obvious. But, to the right of the style definition block, for example(ZZJAZZ.STY:Jazz Swing Style) is a C for key of C, t= for tempo, then parentheses with numbers. The first number in the parentheses dictates where your song should start playing, the second number dictates where the song will end. Outside the parentheses is another number that dictates how many repetitions the song will go through. By any chance does your song start at 1 and repeat at 8? If it does, then your composition has an 8 bar verse. Change the second number to the length of your song and you should be good to go.
Hope this helps. We all had to start somewhere.

It may not be obvious to a newb, Bill. BUT I changed that thing ten times and it just didn't make any difference. It was WEIRD.

I've watched some video tutorials today and re-read the manual. I don't think I had anything wrong. I know I'm hard to help because there are 80 settings that I could have missed and folks will say what about this? nope. what about this? nope. I'm not easy to help on this one.

Tonight I'm going to do a reinstall and see if it clears up.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Hi Chazsi,
Just created an 8 bar verse, with 2 repetitions. 2 bar ending.{ (1-8). 2.} Did a Save As to desktop. Played perfectly. Added another 8 bars, now 20 bars long. Pressed play and got ONLY the first 8 repeated with 2 bar ending. Did another Save As, and pressed play. Got only the first 8 repeated with 2 bar ending, the additional measures did not play. Changed my ending measure from 8 to 18, did a Save As. Hit play and got the expected result, all 20 bars played. Did a "from" and all played. So, if you save as first, and change your measure parameters, you should not have a problem.
I did not mean to impugn your ability. I missed the obvious in your first post, "Do I have to do a save or something?" Yep, you do. Hope this helps.

B - I - N - G - O.

Worked like a charm.

Thanks Bill. Hopefully that will be it for me until I can get to some advanced stuff.

Thanks again,
Chazsi
