I bought a Cubase 4 LE disc off ebay, the disc is OEM and it came bundled with some Alesis hardware. I am not the owner or purchaser of the hardware. Is the license for Cubase LE transferable or does it belongs only to the owner of the hardware? I have read the Steinberg license agreement but it does not specifies any of what I have mentioned above. I have bought the disc off an ebayer who didn't explain much so maybe I am breaching some license terms?

Have you contacted Cubase to see what they say?

no, but I might. I don't much like Steinberg or their forums....I use Cubase merely because I must.

Just tried to email them. No email address, nothing. They just throw in your face their 'troubleshooting' thing and other robot-like stuff.
Might as well resell the disc.

Given that Cubase is a Steinberg (now Yamaha?) product, and the DVD is labelled Alesis I would suggest it is a bundled version, which does make it OEM.
OEM licences usually live and die with the hardware it is bundled with. However, if the licence is unclear and they don't want to talk with you about it...

If you have the product key/code, you should be able to register the product. They e-mailed me my license # for my bundled Cubase AI 4. It took a couple of tries though, lol. Everything has to be filled out correctly in the form you submit.
