iTunes version 9 faulty files . Problem....I have had iTunes for a few years, & the other day I downloaded the latest version plus latest Quicktime. All seemed to go well...but I discovered that some of the tunes in my library are corrupted....(they skip & chatter....slow down etc. ......and the play/stop control is affected when file is playing.) Others are OK. The ones affected are all tunes bought from iStore before I upgraded....latest purchases play fine....so do all other imports. I use Windows XP Home....Soundcard is Sound Blaster Audigy. Drivers up-to-date.....no sound problems in Media Player or RealPlayer. Problems page of Apple Website was no help! I used Windows to repair iTunes....no help. Can anyone suggest solution? ....or even give a URL to email Apple iTunes direct. I could not find one!  Thanks, Joe G.

I believe the iTunes support can be found thru the help menu..
My first suspicion would be Quicktime upgrade rewriting a codec.. if things play fine in WMP.
Quicktime has a reputation for taking over things in hidden ways.
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

Thanks Rharv, I also suspected that at first.........but only a few of the existing files were affected. I tried help pages on Apple.....but only general prblems were answered. I couldn't seem to find a way to send a direct email! Joe G.

'Only a few files were affected' .. it would only take one file to cause this, and likely it is a codec.
In device manager you can look at your installed audio codecs to see if priorities have changed.
It could be that a standard windows codec was being used and Quicktime changed the priority to to the apple codec, or updated a codec or something like this. Sounds like it may be a bugger to track down.
