I just did FAWM ("February Album Writing Month") for the first time -- successfully wrote and recorded 14 demo songs in 28 days (whew!).

Here they are: http://fawm.org/fawmers/brallan/

I am posting here because I used PGMusic products heavily.
- Vocals and harmonies live (of course) with aid from a TC Helicon unit. Mostly Rode NT1.
- Most keyboards live (midi - SD2).
- Most acoustic guitars live.
- Some harmonica live.
- Rest is all BB/RB -- all RealDrums and many RealTracks.

- Production: Paper and pencil => BB for structure, chords, shots and holds, etc. => RB for live tracks, RealTracks, mixing and mastering => Audacity for conversion to MP3.
- Followed Ray Thigpen's great advice on mixing/mastering from this forum.

Appreciate all comments, advice, criticism... (I already believe there is generally too much production, processing, as in the film Amadeus, "too many notes." -- a learning experience.)

Thanks for listening,

Well, you're welcome.... I haven't listened to ALL of this music yet, but what I have heard so far is terrific, far better than what I would expect. I played around with FAWM last year, and wasn't too impressed overall ... there are some top-notch writers and performers doing the site, your songs are right up there.

You're probably right that it is a little "overproduced," but you said you were "learning" the software, so I tend to forgive you. I particularly liked the "Water" and the "Take this bird" and I guess the "Fifty Years" tracks, and some of the others were really funny. Nice variety.

I will post more... maybe more critically, as I listen more. Don't understand why you don't have more feedback on this forum?? ... maybe a bit too much music all at once for most folks.

All in all, it makes me want to upgrade...

Keep it up,
Daisy Mae...

Geez! What a wealth of great stuff! I am only scratching the surface.

I hope you don't mind that I downloaded all the MP3 files for my iPod... that's what they're there for, right?
Maybe you should think about posting them on SoundCloud or SoundClick or somewheres, maybe make some money.

Congratulations, Man --

@Daisy --- thank you for your kind words. Glad you liked those particular tracks. And yes, by all means, you should upgrade, whatever version you are using, the programs just keep getting better.

@DStumm: For sure, go ahead and listen. I don't think SoundCloud has a music purchase option, but SoundClick does. Haven't heard whether anyone is actually selling anything on there, though. Anyone making any money that way?? Any recommendations??

Nice collection of songs, you've covered a variety of styles and have a wide range of topics.
This is kinda like what a Nashville or production type song writer would do in churning out
one song after another. Hank Williams also wrote a song each week for his radio show, at least one.
I enjoyed listening to the whole bunch and being surprised by where you drew your inspirations.

Thanks, Pete.... and I am glad you mentioned Hank Williams... He has just last week received a well-deserved Pulitzer. Imagine that... a country singer/songwriter. Maybe those Pulitzer guys aren't "elites" after all.

As far as models go.. I am happy to have Hank... and notice that Gershwin also received a Pulitzer. And yes, like George, I was going for variety. Son of a gun, we'll have big fun.

Wow! These sound great. Particularly like the background vocals on TAKE THIS BIRD.
