What is WRONG with this thang? I've uninstalled/reinstalled my MIDI/Audio driver (Alesis I/O 26). I uninstalled/reinstalled BIAB, and yes, installed the 224 build upgrade. And it still won't work. They play fine in Sonar 8.5. My sounds on my ext keyboard (Alesis Fusion 8HD) play fine. Even the MIDI driver, AND DX Sound tests play fine. But as soon as I load either a DXi or VSTi...NUTIN'!!  KC

Hi KC,
Yoou will probably have to uninstall and re-install your DXi and VSTi again and then insure that you locate them in the Midi/audio > DXi and VSTi settings page and select it in the top of 4 dropdowns
Re-installing things can reset the selection

Does your Alesis have an ASIO driver? If not, then you'll have to use something like ASIO4ALL and hope it works.
You have to use ASIO for DXi/VSTis.
Also, make sure you have the right chip set for your Firewire.
Finally, I would suggest upgrading to the latest version of Band In A Box, which has a little better DXi/VSTi support.
Just out of curiosity, what DXi/VSTi synths are you using? That would be very helpful since we've had some issues with them before.

2006 is like 8 versions ago...was it even supported?
I used a Dxi for years B.K. (before Ketron Sd2) and never had a need for ASIO drivers, that's a can of proverbial worms. And it won't handle more than one right?
All my best sounding tunes are all RealTracks now, though the Ketron is handy for those I've not tweaked yet, or want to use for midi through from the keyboard or wind controller.

Oh, and ask support, unless that's the 2006 version floating around as a free download from dummywire or whatever, then don't it's would be an embarassment to admit to not having a registered version of a product so much work went into over the years. This is Mother's day and Sunday so if you really need to sort out the issues, about 9:30 PDT they should answer the 1 800 toll free line, OR you can use live help.
Some alleged friend of mine tried using me for support for an old version a few weeks ago and I finally asked him where he got it, and when he said never mind I said never mind.

This video demonstrates how to use the new AI-Notes feature together with the AI-Stems splitter, allowing you to select an audio file and have it separated into individual stems while transcribing each one to its own MIDI track. AI-Notes converts polyphonic audio—either full mixes or individual instruments—into MIDI that you can view in notation or play back instantly.
