Here is a song I finished on June 11th to be sung in the Sunday morning worship service at my church on June 13th. This song tells of God's awesome love for us. Rom 5:8 says, "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Great song. I like it very much. Great vocal (!) - fits perfectly to the song.
A few comments: I like the intro, however IMO, the strings in the beginning somehow disturbed me a bit. Later on, a solo guitar can be heard weakly in the back, which IMO somehow attracted attention away from the gentleness in the song.

Jan, Thanks for listening and thank you for your comments. You and my daughter both agree on the guitar solo. I should have listened to her in the first place and taken it out. I think I will go back and do that. On the intro, as the strings were playing I used that time to show a couple of verses on power point to set up the song. I could have probably done something different with the chords or even a different instrument. Intros and endings are a weak point for me and something that I am working on.

Steve, the only word I can come up with to describe the second version of this song is PERFECT !
Personally I would not change a thing.
Ps – I think you have the perfect intro and ending for this song

Hi Steve,
This song really shines. When I listen to the songs that people post on here, I get comfortable, locate myself in the best possible stereo-receiving position between my speakers, start the music, and then close my eyes and just listen without distraction. Your song swept me away. Its honesty and sincerity are a credit to you. I'm in Mario's camp. This is a terrific work.

nice song... and I especially like the testimony of faith that goes with it.
The one part of the song that sounds like it needs a change to me is the beginning where strings start the song. The chords change too abruptly. Real strings would "ease into" the chord changes. You might accomplish the same effect by:
1) using continuous controllers or another technique to swell the volume, or
2) adding reverb to what you've already got, or
3) using a different string patch that has a softer, slower volume transition, or
4) all of the above
But, as is true of all the comments here, that's more a reflection of my personal preference than it is a commentary on your song.

I am truly humbled by all the comments that I have received. Thank you guys very much. I did open up the midi strings and stretched them a little to where they overlapped each other just barely before ever posting the song which did help but I agree they are still a little abrupt on the changes. I will take another look and try some reverb or another patch.
