Did you get the RealTracks update released recently (separate from the program update released in the last few days too) ?

I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

They load fine here. You need the update if you don't have it.

Hello Jack,

I'm assuming that the files are .MGU files, since you mention that they can be loaded into Band-in-a-Box. Can you send us one of these files as an attachment to support@ pgmusic.com? Please refer to this forum post.

Hello,

Thank you for sending that file. That plays ok with both Band-in-a-Box and RealBand in my testing. Do you know if this problem just started happening? In other words, are you sure that you had played that same file before?

First, verify that you are using the same Drums folder in RealBand as you are in Band-in-a-Box. This is to make sure that RealBand isn't pointing to an older Drums folder you have installed on your computer from a previous version, or whatever.

To do this, first open Band-in-a-Box and open the RealDrums Settings window. If you are using a custom drum folder location, take note of what it is. If you are not using a custom drum folder location, your drum folder is just C:\bb\Drums (assuming you have Band-in-a-Box installed in C:\bb, the default. Next, open RealBand and go to Opt.-Preferences-Song generation...[Paths....]. Compare the RealDrums path there with the one you found in Band-in-a-Box.

If you are using the same Drums folder in both programs (which you should be), and the error still happens, then try reinstalling that particular Drums style using the link I will send you. **Before you test it again, reboot your computer, so that the program will not be using a cached wave file.**

Let me know how that goes.

Good day Andrew

Now I am using Windows 7, so I reinstall eveything that I have in Band in a Box.

After I received my DVD, the 2010 summer PlusPAK. I used Band in a Box first.
After a few days, I start used RealBand and when I start Set 94, I found that problem.

I am using the same Drums folder in RealBand as you are in Band-in-a-Box

I download the Realdrum that you send me the link and I have the same problem.

As an experiment, if you choose a different RealDrums for the Drum track, does it still give you the same message?

If you got to this folder:
\bb\Drums\JazzTerryClarke^
and double-click on the file "JazzTerryClarke^_050_style.wma", does it open and play in Windows Media Player?

How about if you go into this folder:

\bb\Drums\JazzBrushes2FeelAtB
and double-click on the file "JazzBrushes2FeelAtB_045_Style.wma". Does this open and play in Windows Media Player?

Are there any .WAV files in those folders (in addition to the .WMA files) ?
Note: If you cannot see the .wav and .wma file extensions, go to the Tools menu | Folder Options | View, and uncheck the option "Hide extentions for known file types" (the setting may be in a slightly different way, depending on your OS and Windows theme).

Hello Andrew
They both play in the Windows Media Player

I see only a .WMA in the file JazzTerryClarke^_050_style file

I saw a .WAV and a .WMA in the JazzBrushes2FeelAtB_045_Style file

Hello Jack,

Remove the wave file from JazzBrushes2FeelAtB folder (either delete it, rename it, or move it somewhere else). Then, reboot your computer, and try playing the file again in RealBand.

Good morning Andrew

I am very glad because it work very good now, I don't have that message any more. You did a very good job on that.

I had another bad file in Set 94 again, so I did the samething. It was the file _BNGS190 demo (ALL REALTRACKS-SambaSolNyGt,AcPno,AcBass).SGU---------
It was the RealDrums (Samba^1-Sticks,RideContemp) I had a .WAV and a .WMA, so I rename the .WAV and it work fine now.

By the way Andrew, can you tell me why if I have a WAV and a WMA in the same dir. it does not work, is it because there's a conflic with the 2 files.

So thank you a lot for the work you did
Bye for now

It shouldn't matter, unless there was a problem with the wave file for some reason (maybe it was corrupt). But it should be perfectly ok to have both wave and wma present.

As an experiment, you could try putting the wave file back and see if you have the same problem again. But instead of using the same wave file, make a new one. To do this, find a file called "decompress.exe". This may be in your bb folder or your Drums folder. Don't double-click on it yet, but copy the file into the JazzBrushes2FeelAtB folder. NOW double-click on it, and it will make a new wave file from the wma. Load in the song and see if you get the same error message.

Another thing to try is to see if you can play the wave file that was *originally* there (i.e. the bad one) with Windows Media Player, and see if it plays properly. This is just to test if the problem was a corrupt wave file - otherwise, I'm not sure of the exact cause of that problem...
